Derek Deblois scores!!!!!
Derek Deblois scores!!!!!
thefirstrow.eu actually has a video stream of it!!!!
Bennett makes it 2-0!!!
It's good to see them get off to a quick start
The game is on firstrow
Thank you! You just made my night!!
Thank you for that.
Thanks a bunch!!
that was wide open.
Trouba PPG! 3-0!!!
Welcome to the NCAA Jacob Trouba!!!
3-0 good guys. Trouba with the nice wrap-around goal
Just as I say that Trouba makes it 3-0. Good for him, let's hope we see a lot more like that from here on out.
Looks like Rutledge lost the puck and kicked it in
RIT answers. Would have to see a replay, but it seems like it was a soft goal let it by the freshman.
It looked to me like Rutledge scored it himself. Not that it matters, freshman have growing pains and M should win this comfortably either way.
Also, Red, thank you thank you thank you for Trouba. Kid is a monster out there.
Fixed camera angle. Miscellaneous chatter in the background. Certainly better than Rotel and Home Owners Insurance commercials
I can't believe firstrow has this game. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
thanks for the link ill watch this and mute the mlb playoffs lol.
Seems lame. Hockey band jerseys are the way to go
Tripping Trouba. Trouba has too much skillz.
RIT nearly scored on the post-penalty breakout. Put it just over the bar.
Our PP looked pretty good though. Not sure if that's us being good or RIT being bad
RIT"s goalie just robbed Guptill on a 2-on-1
EDIT: And Guptill gets his revenge by scoring literally 2 seconds later
Are the numbers right on the front of the helmet new this year?
Nope they were there last year too.
Waved off again! Dammit!!
We have the worst home-ref-ice advantage ever. I feel like we get perpetually screwed by the refs in our own building
Zebra black magic.
U-M going on the PP.
Efficiency on the PP? Tremendous, tremendous indeed. Impress me now.
3-1 U-M after 2.
Love the live feed on First Row. Just get to watch and listen to the intermssion. Can't wait to get back for a game in just under a month and be there live!
I had row 1 seats one year and it was amazing. Should've put the wheelchair seating on the other side.
I assume that the Zamboni kept them from being able to do that.
The best I can figure, the major renovation meant that the arena had to comply with the ADA, which meant there had to be about 20 wheelchair seats on each end of the ice, plus some more up on the luxury box levels. With the Zamboni entrance in the southwest corner, that kind of screwed the students in the southeast corner.
I think the announcer just referred to the intermission as "halftime."
:11 into the 3rd
Dammit, they score. 3-2 U-M.
JR is going to grow some this third period. For better or for worse.
Kevin Lynch just absolutely wrecked a guy. Clean hit
EDIT: Also, the RIT player's name is also Lynch. Our Lynch >> Your Lynch
That guy could hardley skate to the bench. Hope he is ok.
4-2!!!! Big security goal for JR and the team
So many Lynch's on our team doing good things
Our other Lynch >> your Lynch.
Almost responded very quickly.
Shit! They score. 4-3 now.
Carrick is not on the team
Do they not do replays?
They might have the replays during the TV replay later tonight/tomorrow.
How much time is left?
with 6:30 left
Just missed scoring
noooooo my eyes
RIT ties it at 4
turned off the audio, so didn't hear on who
tied at 4
I'm stuck at work tonight, I haven't been able to catch any of it.
I have noticed a few communication break downs leading to some RIT shots on goal, plus it appears that Michigan still has a good deal of rust.
Started out well! Three fast goals
Started out well! Three fast goals
You didn't miss anything.
Michigan loses 5-4 in OT.
Hopefully this is just a sign of the early season and this is not a precursor to this season.
This is what we get for avoiding losing to a cupcake in football. The big ten is cursed. Yeah, I know, Big ten hockey starts next year. I think it's true anyway. crap.
Need a quick memory to get a win tomorrow night! Not how JR wanted to start his career. No, he shouldn't have given up 5 goals. But our forwards had many chances that should have been goals as well. Yes, it seems hilarious to complain about 4 goals, but with a true freshman goalie that is learning on the go, we need all the goals we can get.
My guess would be no, as his play was not the best tonight.
That's putting it kindly. If he doesn't improve exponentially, it's going to be a long, long season
well this lowers my expectaions a little bit
Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
I want Racine to start tomorrow. 5 goals given up to an AHA team isn't acceptable. And from what I heard in the broadcast, they weren't good goals either.
Give Racine a shot. Only 2 more games to figure out this goaltender situation before conference play starts.
I wonder how much the weird schedule played into the let down tonight. Tomorrow will be our 3rd game in four days. After not playing a live opponent in months.
Whoever set up this schedule did a terrible job. Homecoming or not.
Getting outscored to finish the game 5-1 by a so-so Atlantic Hockey team in Yost is crap. I know Rutledge is a freshman, but the D is supposed to be solid
I see your point, but when the goalie is kicking pucks in his own net and giving up all sorts of soft goals, there really isn't really anything that the D can do
But I would support a hockey feature mgoblog called "game on"
As you were
Not having any idea what happened and reading down a thread like this leads you onto a pretty miserable emotional roller coaster. The top of the thread implied a very different outcome from where this ended.
RIT isn't a so-so Atlantic team. They have won the majority of the league championships since they went DI.
So if football loses to the best team in the MAC, thats ok?
In the end, this was a wake up call. Rutledge isn't ready for the competition (jesus, this happened AT Yost. I could almost forgive a collapse like this on the road, but seriously?). Our defense looked shaky way too often, and a couple of our bigger name forwards need to answer back tomorrow. I realize that no.3 is too high for us, but if we even want to be single digit ranked going into the conference schedule, Red better get the boys organized...
Really though, you've got to give RIT credit. To come back from 3-0 and 4-2 to a perennial powerhouse? Regardless of being in the AHA, they have beaten big name teams in the short amount of time in Division I. Denver and UNH in the 2010 NCAA tourney, they've beaten Minnesota and they beat two nationally ranked teams last year to win the Catamount cup, by shutting out Ferris State, who went to the national championship, and Lake Superior State. They also beat nationally ranked Cornell two years ago. RIT has been in Division I for 7 years and has defeated a ranked opponent in each of those years, which says a lot, because being in the AHA, they don't get a chance to play many. Respect.
