Michigan Hockey: National Championship Game Open Thread
Great first period dudes
1st Intermission, 1-0 Michigan.
Great start boys.
We had good first per we need more goals and defense to win we need more goals than the that other team
We're the better team. Plus Hunwick turns 24 today.
Edit: OF COURSE they interview a UMD player during the intermission. Fuck this announcing crew.
We should be bi-winning right now but aren't thanks to that whistle, but 1-0 is a good start
Don't let that waive-off be any factor whatsoever. Make it just a footnote.
Nice start indeed
this kind of thing happens way too often. i really don't understand why the refs don't wait that extra second to be sure the puck is covered. there's not a damn thing lost by waiting a bit longer to be sure. we got screwed all the time with this BS.
They'll interview one of our team at the next intermission, guaranteed. BKFinest it!
From the casual observer, we seem to have a different game plan tonight. Against NoDa it seemed we were hitting and attacking more until we got our first goal. Then we played 4 deep and barely sent the 5th guy to the puck.
Tonight it seems to me that we're not going to try and sit on a 1-0 lead.
If we win this game someone make sure that Winett gets some back in AA... Magnus put your damn hand down!
1. if you have the talent edge, i think you should keep attacking. maybe dial-it down if we go up 2 or as the game gets short.
2. if we don't have the talent edge, i would sit on the lead, kinda like they do in soccer. do what you can to shorten the game.
i think this philosophy works in many sports.
Any explanation on the no goal
Ref had to have determined that he felt the play was dead before he blew the whistle. Question I have then is why the review? Seems to me that if you felt the play was dead, it would be dead. How would the review affect what you felt in your head? Not like they could gain any else from the replay, because it showed the puck was in before the whistle.
you're expecting refs in minny to show logic and fairness?
The refs are trying to make it a traditional in the tournament now to call of a Michigan goal with an early whistle.
Hockey has the play dead when the official intends to blow the whistle, not when it is actually blown.
Wrong thread? lol
Why does Canadian TV insist on showing every hockey game except the one I want to watch? (ESPN3 doesn't work here). Streaming online is not the ideal way to watch hockey.
Leafs TV will show the game... at 10 pm. I can't wait that long.
(not ESPN 2 or 3).
1. It was clearly in before the whistle blew. Screw "intent to blow"
2. The goalie honestly had it covered for like 3 seconds, and the whistle should have gone earlier.
"Isn't that the same as that replay of the Miami (NNTM) game you made me watch 10 times last year?"
no matter what Fuckrose thinks. UMD also leads in PPlays 2-1. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a four PP advantage like ND did before the end of the game.
The espn3 stream I'm getting right now is pretty good.
Seeing ND keeps throwing me off...I immediately think Notre Dame
sucks in any language.
i love all the highlites and analysis of the game during the intermission. not.
Here we go!
I'm drinking Centennial IPA from Founders, which I bought at the brewery this afternoon after enjoying two pints in the taproom (Red's Rye and Rye Stout).
Beer is getting me threw this game and all of Michigan's games
Man oh man Hunwick is the tits.
c'mon D, take care of the damn puck.
This crowd seems mighty quiet.
shit damn fart
are we so flat?
Looks like he was screened on the original shot and the follow
Go Blue - I've got faith.
I mean, don't show any optimism or anything. It's 1-1 and things ain't exactly going badly.
I'm drinking Canadian Club Reserve on the rocks.
Melrose studders just as bad as drew sharp.
