Michigan Hockey: National Championship Game Open Thread

Submitted by MichFan1997 on

Starting us off early today. Shut the fuck up about math problems people. We're playing in a CHAMPIONSHIP game today. The only math I'm worried about is if the sum of Michigan's goal total is greater than the sum of Minnesota-Duluth's goal total.

I would love it if someone posted a livestream link for later tonight. I have no television so I'd prefer to sit in my dorm and watch on my computer while drinking. Otherwise I have to go to a bar and beg them to put on a sporting event that nobody else there will care about, and then overpay for booze.

about to go shopping at the mall. will be wearing my michigan hockey sweatshirt proudly here in delaware. since there's no sales tax in delaware i expect half of the east coast to be at the mall this morning so i'm really hoping to get at least one 'go blue'

It's been a long time since I've been this nervous, anxious, and excited on a Saturday afternoon. It's like that ad for Ab Ripper X, I hate it, yet I love it.

We are the higher seed so we are either maize or white.  I'm hoping for maize. Has to be the most spectacular uniform in all of sports. Besides our home football unis anyway.

For those of you in Chicago looking to watch the game at one of the Michigan bars, Rockit will NOT be showing the game with sound.

I mean, seriously.

Duffy's it is, I guess.

Knowing a little bit about Rockit, they'll probably be playing goofy music videos to match up with whatever the DJ is playing or they'll be playing their own advertisements on the tvs.   I guess it's the downside of having a Michigan Alumni Club sponsored bar which isn't really a sports bar.

I hope it isn't the case, but it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't even have sound  for the entire ND night game this year.  Or they'll have sound but the DJ will pump his club music in every commercial break and "accidentally" forget to turn it off until a few plays late each commercial break until they just start phasing out the football sound when the saturday night crowd starts coming in.

Wow that was great.  Also worht noting the amount of those highlights which were backchecks, shotblocks and the other unglamerous things which this less-talented-than-some team has had to do all year to be sucessful.  Like this year's basketball team who succeeded in much the same way, it's beautiful to watch.

Where do you all think is the best lace to watch the game in Ann Arbor, if I leave my house?  Dissapointed in Charlie's durring the CC game (though during the Duke bball game, it was awesome).

We may need separate open threads for each period.  Otherwise this one's probably going to be a board-killing monster.

I have been obsessed for this day for over a decade.  I have really been out of my mind these last couple days.  I have had so many flashbacks to the '98 postseason.  Even down to weird thoughts like "Wow, my roommate's Birkenstocks feel pretty awesome (as I am walking through the diag) and Marty Turco is such a fucking pimp."

SO PUMPED!!! I got decently drunk last night, just wrote a final exam...it was way easier than expected, if anything I overstudied. Stopped at the liquor store on the way home, and now I'm going to sit on my couch and watch family guy until game time. If we win, I'm going out and will behave in a way as to thank the hockey gods.
