Michigan Hockey at the Joe Ticket Question

Submitted by Fhshockey112002 on

With next week's game (Jan 23rd) vs MSU at Joe Louis I was wondering if there was a standard "side" of the arena Michigan fans typically are designated? I assumed the band will be on the Upper Level, but haven't been able to locate where.

Looking to take my fiance to her first Michigan hockey game and want her to get a taste for the experience. She hasn't been able to make a game at Yost yet, so thought this would be a good start.

Thanks in advance!

In my experience at the Joe, there aren't designated areas for fans. I always just buy a generic upper bowl ticket and go sit by the band and feaux-student section that assembles there. I recommend you do the same. Best place to sit for a Michigan game at the Joe

When I had my tickets (and this has been ~7 years or so), the band was above Section 117-118 or so, in the corner where the benches were to the left of us.

It's old information, but I hope that helps a little bit.

It's been a few years since I've been to the game at the Joe, but I recommend eating in Greektown and taking the people mover.  We had a great time one year with our car alternating between screaming "Go Green, Go White" and "Go Blue".  IMHO, once you're at the Joe, the game is a letdown compared to a GLI Championship, old CCHA Championship, Red Wings game, or certainly Yost.

Once you've taken her to this game, you gotta get her to Yost to see the difference.  Have fun!
