Michigan Hockey 20/1 to win it all
Since this is Not Football, it seems like a good time to share. I didn't realize they did these odds for college hockey. If ever there was an unsafe bet, it's betting who will win the NCAA hockey tournament but feel free to give it the ol' college try
Big Ten:
Minnesota 3/1
Wisconsin 15/1
Michgian 20/1
Ohio State 40/1 (?)
Other Opponents:
BC 4/1
Ferris 20/1
UNH 40/1
Lowell 25/1
BU 40/1

Minnesota is completely loaded top to bottom this year. 3/1 almost seems too high, not surprised they were bet down from 9/2.

College hockey is so weird that I don't consider anyone a lock. I've seen numerous dominating teams - like Michigan 2008 :( - dominate all year and loss in the tourney. Is Minnesota 3/1 to be a 1-seed? Yup, and I might go lower. But I wouldn't put any real money on anyone to win it all

I actually looked and I was a little surprised that Massey took his algorithm and applied it to college hockey as well. No updates on the site yet as the season has not begun yet (they usually reset to the current season a week or two before the season starts), but it will be interesting what the algorithm makes of the Big Ten at least initially.

I wish our football team had those odds.

I don't think any football team in the Big 10 could get those odds at this point.

Must make the NCAA Tournament before winning it. Last year was a very painful end to the season with many underwhelming losses to inferior teams, after such a strong first half.
On paper, Minnesota is by far the top team this year. Miami is probably the second most talented on paper, but they had issues last year.
I expect Michigan to finish second in the B1G, probably closer to the 3rd and 4th place teams than 1st place Minnesota. On a national scale, probably a bubble team from the 10-15 range. It is time for the talent to start producing.

College hockey lines?!?! Really? And Michigan at 20/1??? I only hope we're that competitive (and avoid Penn State in any and all tournaments)....
