Michigan has been the laughingstock of College Football the last three days...

Submitted by CipASonic on
That was a quote from everyone's favortie Detroit radio show host: Mike the Douchebag Valenti. Can somebody calmly explain to me how M is the laughingstock of College Football? If not, can some one explain why Valenti has a job? Oy! This is what I get for listening his show... I know this has been a big deal, but a laughingstock? Then, he goes on to say why it is a big deal that M does it, but it isn't a big deal that everyone else does it...

I don't really get how sports talk radio is as popular as it is. No market the market, it always seems like the most popular show is two dicks yelling at each other and showing off how little they know. 400 years ago, these idiots would be pushing the poop away from the village to prevent disease.

Your first mistake was listening to Mike Valenti. Only a moron of his caliber would use the word laughingstock. Other than the geniuses from the free press, I don't see any other media outlet denouncing Rodriguez, Michigan Football, or the family atmosphere. While not everyone loves Michigan, not many hate like the local D-bags we have in southeast Detroit. The only thing more annoying than MV is Pat Caputo talking about college football. When he speaks, it's clear he knows little about recruiting, strategies, you name it. But he loves to make insinuations about the downfall of our program. The voice also doesn't help. I miss WDFN segments when they had a fake Caputo for a mock interview. I don't know how Dennis stands that guy every night. I called in a few days ago to the show, but I ended up just speaking with Jeff Rieger for a few minutes about Pat's college football IQ. Consensus: retarded. Jeff hinted that the reason why the have Caputo talk about the subject is to piss off Michigan fans and boost ratings. Especially on nights w/o Tigers games. In short, I miss Stoney and Wojo.

a reason why i didn't listen to mike and terry today and because of comments like that is why. i know that i have defended mike on these boards before and i always will for the simple fact that he tells like it is!!! but when it comes to stuff with michigan his true colors come out and he acts like an complete asshole about it. he has always said that the reason why he went into radio is so that he could still be a fan of michigan state. there are times where he defends michigan: justin turner situation and the hiring of RR. but there are times he goes over board with his hatered. plus he knows what is going to get calls to the program. so if he has call michigan the laughing stock of college football to get a pay check then so be it.

We have been the butt of most of the jokes in the college football universe since Saturday night. Not because of what RR or the program did, but because the Freep tossed UofM-haters a softball. Not that I blame other teams' fans. This is on Rosenberg and Snyder. Hell, if a similar report came out about [TEAM REDACTED], I would be laughing too. So in that sense, Valenti is right. However, because he's still Valenti, he can kiss the fattest part of my ass... And you listened to him voluntarily, so you have no one to blame but yourself.

To Valenti's credit, he did say that he doesn't feel Michigan should get dinged for any major violations (loss of scholarships, etc.). That said Mike and Terry are pushing the following (dopey) conclusions from today's press conference: 1. Rich's tears are disingenuous (Valenti), or belie Rodriguez coming to the realization that nobody wants him there (Foster). (Rich does not have 100% support amongst his players or the alumni, that much is clear, but winning fixes a lot of that) 2. The Michigan locker room is obviously in complete disarray. Rich doesn't have the respect of his players. Foster actually made the Lions comparison (BIG assumption, based purely in hope from someone who wants to see Michigan fail) 3. Rich's emotional outburst is reminiscent of crazy John L. Smith press conferences. (This is completely ridiculous, Rich losing his composure publicly is not ideal, but to say we've become MSU in disarray is a STRETCH and wishful thinking on Valenti's part) 4. Michigan faithful can't play the, "everybody does it" card because apparently in Michigan's case Rodriguez requires participation in voluntary workouts while other programs don't. (Huh? What?) Caller brought up the Andrew Maxwell quote and Mike essentially ignored it. Bottom line, the schadenfruede is running thick today over at 97.1 and Valenti is having the time of his life. Hopefully, this all blows over and when we start winning a lot of these assholes will have to help themselves to their plate of crow.

Getting emotional is fine. Some people don't see RR as a human being so now he's demonstrating that he is a very compassionate one. Les Miles got emotional then won a national championship. Hopefully RR will make people think twice about trying to screw him over now. No one should kick a dog while he's down.

Not once in the entire hour i listened to their show did they ever mention anything about counted hours and uncounted hours. They just keep repeating the things that were in the article. i.e. 11 hour Sundays. But what is really disgusting is Foster's claims that someone must have come to Rosenberg and Snyder instead of reading or watching them admit that they contacted players. They must do the very bare minimum in research for their show and that is probably why it is so horrible.

did anyone else listen to that segment? terry totally blew a gasket on a caller that went with the age old "bare cupboard" defense. and i mean blew a gasket. it was weird. it ended with "TO HELL WITH YOU!" (emphasis not mine).
