Michigan Grad Arnone Signs Pro Deal

Submitted by skurnie on

Michigan graduate Tyler Arnone has signed his first professional soccer deal with the Real Monarchs, a United Soccer League (USL) team owned by MLS club Real Salt Lake. This hasn't been confirmed by the team yet but Arnone himself has been retweeting congrats and Detroit City FC (he's played there in the past) also tweeted it.

Arnone was a three time All Big Ten selection and the 2013 Big Ten Midfielder of the Year. He was invited to the MLS Combine but surprisingly not selected during the MLS Superdraft earlier this year after graduating from Michigan.

The USL is the third division of US Soccer (MLS – NASL – USL) and includes MLS Reserve Teams, including the newly formed Monarchs, MLS-affliated teams (Richmond Kickers & DC United) and some independent teams (Pittsburgh, Colorado Springs, Tulsa).

The Monarchs opened their inaugural season last week with a scoreless draw against the LA Galaxy’s reserve team.

putting me up to 30,000 MGoPoints.

First, I'd like to thank the wonderful mods for not banning me on a few occasions I could have deserved it...especially to LSA for talking me down out of the bell tower a few times.

But mostly to all of you...my dedicated MGoBrethren and .... Sistren.  ?  Without you, none of this would be possible.

You won't ever see me again after today because I'm going off to sell Volvos for the rest of my natural born life.

Peace, Love and Foreign cars....

I'm not sure about graduation, but Opare played four years at Michigan.

Sporting KC decided they weren't winning the MLS Cup with their current roster and began dumping players including Saad who signed with BEC Tero Sasana in Thailand.  He scored in his first game there.

There are a handful of M Soccer players on the Detroit City FC roster including Latif Alashe and Zeke Harris.

Justim Meram has been one of the better scoring options for Columbus. Additionally he has started a few games for the Iraq National Team which made quite a run at the recent Asian Cup.
