But if there weren't subs involved, how could it be 'crazy'?
P.S. Might want to check your grammar.
P.S.S. And does this type of recruiting really work? I wish someone would ask these young adults. Between kids writing letters, 'last puzzle piece', etc. does it really affect them?
When they tweet it out. If it was cheezy or stupid they'd probably just throw it away.
I forgot to recheck my edit before posting. I should hire V. Stiviano to help me with these tricky posts. She's one smart rabbit.
Best "right hand arm man" this grand nation has to offer.
No, she is a silly rabbit.
gross
I believe the term is "phat rabbit."
I bet she smells bad.
It's "P.P.S", not "P.S.S."
P.C. of you. Are you accessing on your P.D.A.?
I dont think it's the recruiting material as much as it is the attention that they feel the staff is paying to them and maybe planting the idea that they plan on him going pro?
Yeah, a big part of it is to make the recruits feel like they're a top priority. If a staff becomes less consistent about contacting the player, he'll assume they aren't interested. A goofy picture like this takes more work than sending out a form letter, so it should be appreciated.
Maybe I've overly cynical today but that seems really lame to me. Not much better than stuff I've seen from other schools.
Looks like he's going to get drafted by the Houston Oilers.
which 18 kids?
jdon
I find it interesting that they sort of took an almost corporate approach by putting "core values" on each of these - "Committment", "Accountability", "Respect" and "Trust", in this case. I think they've been discussed in articles as being just that, but it is interesting to see them on the recruiting material as well. You would have to think that it is a nice way to hit home, especially if the kid you are recruiting appreciates those things as well.
How is this different than any of the other pieces of mail schools send students for academic recruitment?
And that's the Michigan difference.
It's about football?
Yuck. I mean if we're actually going to do these things let's at least TRY and be creative and clever and not just something forgettable so we can say we tried.
What the fine print doesn't tell you, is that you actually have to WALK from California to Michigan.
Hoke'd.
Why is he holding up an Oilers jersey at the draft? Is Brady Hoke a Time Lord?
Hoke as a Time Lord sign me up! Lazy part of me says they used a Houston Oiler jersey because that's the stock photo they had. The inner-lawyer of me says it might have to do something with not being able to use a current team jersey due to infringement/copyright/etc
permission from Roger Goodell to use his picture in their pitch piece.
Are you volunteering to be a "bag man"?
I agree that it seems really cheesy. Like mac n cheese noodle at the Stadium, cheesy.
^^^ This.
Are we sure DB isn't running the football program by himself these days?
Probably because he went in the 6th round...this is Michigan fergodsakes.
I think I found out why our recruiting is in the shitter
