Michigan gets approval from neighborhood around the Big House to execute major fireworks after two football games this season.

Interesting comment from one resident who says all homeowners should know what they're getting into seven Saturdays a year by purchasing a house around the stadium.

don't bother me at all. I get doing them after the PSU game (if it's a win). That'll be fun for everyone celebrating a victory. Just start them after the band is done playing.

However, like some others have mentioned, I do not understand doing fireworks after the Miami OH game. The latest I can see that game starting is 3:30. That means the sun will still be up and the fireworks display will be worthless. It's really odd to do fireworks during the daylight. Typically that's reserved for trailer parks in Mississippi and Alabama.

In my mind the hype and flying jet guys and planes and Beyonce are more about recruiting than anything else.

And I'm OK with that.  It doesn't add a lot of value for me personally, I go to see the game.  But I also understand there are a lot of other powerhouse programs out there and top recruits will always have a choice of any one of them.  So if a bit of SuperBowl bling and littleBrandonwow are going to creep in and it creates some separation in a recruit's mind its worth it to me.

Aside: I really liked the fireworks at Tiger Stadium. I thought it was the best show I'd ever been to.  The enclosure of the stadium created a ton of noise via echo, and noise seems to be missing from a lot of modern shows (I recall those 80s "aerial bombs" which shook the window panes).  Couple that with my declining hearing from working in an industrial environment for 20+ years and I was suitably impressed.  I think the citizens of Ann Arbor can get over it for a little while.  Having their streets clogged to gridlock and a few drunk people peeing on their lawns is regular fare for game day.

My WAG is that the display will occur at halftime.
