No question "Jim."

who is donnie corley?
September 29th, 2015 at 9:54 PM ^
straight up baller from MLK high school in Detroit. Has been considered a heavy MSU lean for a while up until recently. He and the new U of M staff have been showing mutual interest as of late. His film goes from impressive to ZOMFG right around the 1:18 mark:

Wow, his athleticism jumps out immediately. Great combo of size and speed. I feel comfortable saying that kid will be great wherever he ends up, hope its Michigan!

Reminds me of Amani toomer. Maybe with a bit of gallon shifty in there.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:05 PM ^
I am not saying he is but it looks to me like he moves a lot like Mr. Charles Woodson.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:33 PM ^
I be like, dang.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:34 PM ^
for that
September 29th, 2015 at 10:45 PM ^
I love any kid from Detroit with a German techno sound track.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:54 PM ^
This is the first time I have watched his highlights. I am now going to be very sad if he ends up at MSU or OSU.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:55 PM ^
Some of those plays remind me of a skinnier Jabrill Peppers. He looks to have crazy athleticism, just not Pepper's crazy build.
September 30th, 2015 at 9:17 AM ^
I think that might be a little overboard. He's not the athlete that Peppers is.

How in the world is nobody covering him? Lol
September 29th, 2015 at 11:45 PM ^
My unofficial scouting report would be rangy and speedy as fuck.
September 30th, 2015 at 9:16 AM ^
This is unrelated to Corley, but I hate Prep Force videos because they mess with the speed of the video too much. I don't like all the slow motion, speeding up, etc. Just give me the straight-up highlights.
September 30th, 2015 at 11:34 AM ^
agreed. i was going to mention how annoying those type videos are, as well as somewhat misleading. kind of tough to honestly eval or gauge players when tape settings are jumping all over the place like that.
i guess it could be cool for 3 min highlight tape for youtube or whatever but theres a reason coaches prefer straight game tape and highlights.
id prefer the coaches pull in 1-2 of really athletic WR/CB prospects theyre targeting but corley could develop into a solid player if go that route - the kids got serious ball skills, even thats obvious from that funky film
September 30th, 2015 at 11:43 AM ^
I would gladly take Corley. We need receivers. But I agree that there are a couple other big-time athletes that I would prefer, such as Jack Jones.
September 29th, 2015 at 9:54 PM ^
The choice will be easy for him. You're either an M guy or MSU guy. It's pretty simple.
September 29th, 2015 at 9:58 PM ^
Go to Michigan.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:53 PM ^
Just a hypothetical here, but if he chooses MSU what does that make him? Because McDowell chose MSU and it looks like he'll end up being the best of his class from the state of Michigan. Yes I know this is a running thing to be said here, but Corley will be a star wherever he ends up. Just like Burbridge is turning out to be.
September 29th, 2015 at 11:16 PM ^
I think you're taking this a little too literally, friend.

After 3 years of being somewhere between non-entity and mediocre, he has a handful of good games (and one nothing game) against terrible teams and he's a star?
September 29th, 2015 at 9:54 PM ^
Huge.

That is a really positive development.
September 29th, 2015 at 9:59 PM ^
Even though he was rocking an OSU shirt at the lions game Sunday night?
September 29th, 2015 at 10:02 PM ^
Terrelle Pryor used to rock both M and OSU gear all the time. A lot of recruits have the same policy on gear as me...if it's free it's for me.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:37 PM ^
Except that if somebody gave me an OSU shirt, I would use it to scrub the bottom of my toilet--not wear it out in public.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:51 PM ^
If it's free it's a recruiting violation. Outside of their official equipment deal you can't even give free OSU t shirts to current OSU players let alone recruits. Same for any school. Having been on officials I can tell you they take that seriously in my experience. They will take you to the bookstore but you are paying full price yourself.

And the winner of the raffle drawing won a OSU tshirt. It was crazy luck that he won!
September 29th, 2015 at 10:28 PM ^
Should he have been wearing a Michigan shirt instead? What the hell kind of question is that?

Gary had to love what he saw at that game. That anaconda defense--and I imagine the game atmosphere was absolutely electric.

Nice--we've already been using Mix to celebrate Jake Butt's exploits. The song can play multiple positions. Like Jabrill Peppers...
September 29th, 2015 at 10:21 PM ^
Much as I'd love to see an athlete like Gary, after 10 years of following recruiting, I'm weary and leary of the superstar that doesn't want to make a commitment by the fall of his senior year. Either you love Michigan or you don't. And if the latter, good luck to you. We're moving on and we like our star walkon DT just fine, thanks.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:35 PM ^
Yeah. I can't believe the nerve of these kids who want to check out schools and get as much information as the can before making a decision. Let's just not bother with recruiting and build our team from student body tryouts.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:39 PM ^
Pretty sure they can't actually take official visits till fall of senior year. So there's that.
September 29th, 2015 at 10:41 PM ^
I'm going on a vision quest. I'll let you know what I decide.

Say hi to Alex Kozan while you're there. Legend says he still resides there.

For using the second person. Lazy. Less typing. Got me.
September 30th, 2015 at 8:25 AM ^
I don't think that was the issue with your post.
September 30th, 2015 at 6:37 AM ^
Dude regular people don't make college decisions before their senior year of high school. I didn't know where I wanted to go until at least January and I was in no way under the kind of pressure and scrutiny that these athletes are under. As far as I'm concerned each and every one of them could wait until NSD, ESPECIALLY a kid like Gary who could literally go to any school in America.
