Michigan Football will be featured on "60 Minutes" tonight
Thought this would be a good thing to bring to people's attention. It's a segment about the business of College Football, and Michigan and Dave Brandon will be featured prominently.
I believe the show begins at 7PM EST.

Make sure you extend your recording. Because there is a game before it and it might run over.

Working very long hours lately. Although I'm making a ton of money, quality of life and free time are fairly low.

That sounds tremendous except....why Towson?
If you are going for an "OT" program (Nick Saban/Bama makes sense schedule-wise), why not Slippery Rock?

This will not be a positive report. I know because a)60 Minutes doesn't do postive reports b)I just heard the way the NFL guys used the phrase "eye-opening" in a promo.

Thanks for the heads up. Will be very interesting to see what stats they discuss. I believe I read an article last year that applications to Alabama both increased tremendously post national championship years. Will be interesting to see what the theme is considering the Towson trailer but also that UM was interviewed.

Maybe Towson is the example of a money hemorrhaging AD and Michigan is the example of a successful, profitable AD that gives back to the university?

If I recall as well, they were on the golf course for the Air Force filming people for this segment. I'm guessing they don't show me because my drunk buddy kept screaming "PUT ME ON TV!!!" while flexing, they put the camera on him however. Although I'm gonna guess that he turned the camera off for that part.

It's easy to do some "shocking" story about the money spend on college athletics. Whatever they say about it, though, it's way more defensible to be running a huge athletics operation when you're doing so many things on campus right. A lot of other big-time college programs can't make that argument. And, as FreeKarl noted, the money is flowing in the right direction at MIchigan--the U doesn't have to support the athletic department.
I hope my DVR doesn't screw up because I'm eager to see the segment.

Not a whole lot of new information in this piece, especially if you are a diehard fan who reads everything mgoblog daily. Still cool and interesting though.
I'm just glad they didn't show very much of the top third of our rabid student section.
