Michigan fans, a Northern Illinois tv programming note
BTN is broadcasting 2 games at the same time, Michigan vs MSU and NW vs Purdue. Here is a link to see if you are getting the Michigan game.

1st thread post, hopefully I did it correctly.

If you have comcast with a digital box you can get more than one game. I'll get the M game on the main channel and then there are xtra big ten network channels where i'll get other games.

and this sucks. NU and PU?? Sheesh... Everyone outside Illinois/Indiana will basically get it on ch 692 if on comcast. Don't know about other states (IA, WI, etc). MI definitely get it on the main BTN channel (ie, HD). Sucks for me.
EDIT: @blueisgood, you're obviously not in IL/IN, then. I am, so I get NU and PU. Understandable, but still boo.

Blueisgood is correct. You will get an additional BTN channel added to your lineup tomorrow for the Michigan game. Your primary (HD) channel will be the NU-PU game, but you'll still be able to watch Michigan, whether you have Comcast or DirecTV. Even in Illinois or Indiana.

which is what i said. he is NOT in IL/IN, so he gets UM on the main BTN channel. since i AM in IL, i do NOT get UM in HD. This was my point.

I live in Illinois and I get my signal out of Southern Wisconsin, it's on Charter channel #50.

often don't provide overflow channels. If that's the case, I'd definitely change providers.

Reading this, I thought that UM fans had made it into NIU's programs for this weekends NIU game somehow.

I clicked on the post expecting to see some strange story about how Michigan fans were either derided or glorified in NIU game programs. Sadly, I was disappointed.

And I have 2 big 10 network HD channels

DirecTV is showing the UM/MSU on 610 (the main BTN channel) and NU/PU on 611.

Why in the name of all that is holy, is this game not on ABC or ESPN?
October 2nd, 2009 at 10:07 PM ^
Since you're new I'll respond even though the detailed answer is available somewhere.
ABC had 1st pick of Big 10 games this week - ABC Picked PSU @ Illinois
By Contract the Big Ten Network and ESPN alternate which weeks they have the second pick.
BTN had the second pick this week and selected Michigan @ MSU because it was obviously the next best available game. It sucks, but that is the way the BTN/ESPN rotation worked out.

If it's such a good game that they wanted to take it away from ESPN (and thus away from a national audience), they could at least have the decency to show it to us all. I'm twenty minutes from the Michigan border, and stuck with this? I call BS, no excuses.

get your ace up early and get into Michigan..no excuses for that.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. I would have been greatly aggravated and dismayed in the morning.
