Michigan Fans in High Places
The things you learn sometimes, I tell ya... I always knew my dad's cousin, Tom Howard, was something of a name in the Navy. I never see the man, but I know of him. I probably saw him and last talked to him 10 years ago, when I was in my young teens. I know he's a big Michigan fan like the rest of the family, but not much else.
However, there recently was an article on him in the Toledo Blade, as he has been promoted once more before retirement. Promoted to what, you say? Master Chief of the Atlantic Navy. Second higest non-com in the U.S. Navy. That, my friends, is some Maize and Blue power.
What other Michigan fans in powerful places are you aware of?
David Brandon
I heard Brian Cook rules the interwebs.
Speaking of people on this site, I think there are quite a few that post things when they are in "high" places. Puff, Puff, Pass.
Are you inferring that Ryan Mallett has been posting again?
Gerald Ford did okay for himself
President Harrison Ford of Air Force One fame.
And Alice from the Brady Bunch.
As the President mentioned in a video, most of his staffers are Michigan Alumni.
You mean like those kids that vandalized the diag?
How much higher can you get?
Wolverine up a tree tries, fails.
This goes here now.
edit: Damn, someone beat me.
that one never fails to get the heart pumping just a leetle bit faster...
Ruling Space Emperor of Space is a pretty impressive station in life.
go blow up Columbus
Even if you miss the city, you're still hitting Ohio.
However, Navy might be a little busy destroying parts of Northern Indiana:
Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar
Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement, Valerie Jarrett
Member, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Daniel Tarullo
You are like MGoBlogs resident encyclopedia. Seriously either you are the master of Google or one smart dude. +1.
He can be both.
Astronauts, Olympians, CEOs, President, oh my!

He has earned the saying that anybody in my family earns when they earn a post graduate degree or significant rank in the military; "Can't Nobody Tell You Shit!!!"
Yes, but Bridget Moynahan likely is not.
Is space high enough?
people in "high" places when I went there from '69 to '75.
And '98 to ...errr...>4 years later.
....naked people
Russell Crowe. You can't get much higher than Maximus and Robin Hood.
You mean Robin Hood aka Maxiumus. That being said, can't wait to see gladiator 2!!
I remember the night I punched Russell Crowe in the head. Dramatic recreation follows

Edit: I suck at embeding these things.
Even though none of you have ever heard of us... I would say that me, Cheese Boy, Big Bird, Allison, Pirate, and Ratzo ended up "in powerful places".
Top THAT, muthaf***ers!
Mufasa, Mufasa, Mufasa!
1015 Packard
That's where I lived senior year. That place is huge and was great for big parties. The second floor room with the turret was a living room then. It was constantly filled with a cloud of joy.
Larry Page has to be included in this, right?
I'm pretty sure the Google Master would agree at least.
stands on a chair, Vern Troyer is a fan in a high place........just sayin'........
dad is a VP at comerica, does that count??? :)

Michigan's 71 clerks for Supreme Court Justices is seventh among schools, behind Virginia (82), Stanford (101), Colubia (108) Chicago (131), Yale (293) and Harvard (456).
After us is Cal with 45 so our spot is pretty secured. Assoc. Justice Frank Murphy (a Michigan man, and a champion of individual rights long before it was cool) had a Harvard guy when he started, then all Michigan men for the rest of his tenure.
Other Michigan men who served on the Supreme Court: George Sutherland, and William Rufus Day.
