Or, given the state of things on the board lately, maybe he has the right school.

"Michigan fans are nasty, man. They're ruthless" -Ameer Abdullah
if Chris Perry has never read this blog, Ameer probably hasn't either. We might be embarrassed if he did though.
That's a compliment.
I can only wish that I agreed with his statement.
Maybe he has been reading this board recently...
Did he get lost and end up in Yost?
He also said that, "He would love nothing more than to win in Ann Arbor and shut them fans up." Not a big deal really. He is good, but I dont care what he says. Im more worried about whether the OL is going to block someone saturday or if our D can actually play a full 4 quarters.
Nebraska is pretty awful up front defensively, so my first thought is "hey, maybe we can actually block someone"
Then I remember the UConn game...
And Akron. And PSU. Ugh.
Apparently he doesn't know all Michigans fans do nowadays is piss and moan about how shitty the OLine and coaches are...
That genuinely confuses me
Good... At least we're doing something well.
Michigan fans are nasty? Compared to... Nebraska fans? Iowa fans? Because then this would be a correct statement.
EDIT: I don't understand the downvotes. It's not the OP that said this.. The OP is just bringing it to the board's attention.
Nebraska has the nicest most courteous fans I have ever been around.
Right. If we're going to compare Michigan fans to Nebraska fans... then yes, Michigan fans are ruthless.
Nebraska fans are like the Canadians of the U.S.A.
Man, did you see the Vancouver hockey riots in 1994 and 2011? Most American states have not seen civil unrest like that.
Most of those people were not Canadians - when those WTO type of things happen people from all over the world come to the city to riot. A lot are anarchists etc
You really think a bunch of foreign anarchists made last-minute plans to go to Vancouver to riot after hockey games?
The riot following the 2011 cup finals was not as a result of Vancouver losing. That thing was planned to happen regardless of what happened.
epic gif. And yes his baseline is Nebraska fans so he thinks Northwestern fans are ruthless....
I'm extremely impressed with the Nebraska fans I've met and observed. They are really classy. I really don't think our fans are nasty, but if he believes that, so be it.
Was in Lincoln last year and had a wonderful time. Those people are awesome hosts and fans.
...let's go out of our way to be really, really nice and throw them a curve!
/s
Don't we wish. But maybe when viewed from the eyes of a visiting team over the last three years? In any event, beat the Huskers!
Perhaps we are moving away from the golf-clapping wine and chesse society crowds. Now if we could just the other 55,000 fans to actually raise their voices and cheer for the team we would be dangerous.
Lol. There are, no doubt, a great combo; however, perhaps best enjoyed outside of the football arena.
I am offended also.
As a member of society, I am ALSO offended.
I personally enjoy a good wedge of Shropshire Blue and a nice Bordeaux while wandering about the links myself. I think we should combine it into one nice, sizeable retort.
Manchego & Sangiovese for me. Beats the hell out of pork rinds & Huber Bock or whatever the hell they snack on in Nebraska.
Zinfandel and a block of parmesan does it best for me.
I believe it's runzas and corn squeezins in Nebraska.
There's a beer I haven't thought of in years!! I remember buying a case of bottles from Blue Keg for under $10 and that included tax and deposit. Oh the life....
Huber Bock stands out in my memory as the absolute worst beer I have ever sampled. And yeah, I think we were buying cases of it for around $7 from Blue Front back in the mid-90s when I was in school.
You wouldn't want to pair a blue with a bordeaux, unless you are talking about a Sauternes. But I would suggest going even sweeter and stickier with a blue; like maybe a late-harvest viognier, or late harvest sav. blanc, from California. Even sweet whites from Bordeaux have acidity that will work against the bite from that Shropshire every time.
Signed,
Mork Dantonio.
a can of cheese and box of wine as much as anyone, but I don't think us classy folk should be offended by this.
But,I'd prefer those words being spoken about the team!!!!
He played against Michigan last year in Lincoln. Was there a nasty contingent of Michigan fans who took umbrage after Denard went down and put in a guy who helped the Cornhuskers look like MSU on defense? I mean that was a good thing for his team.
I guess I need some more context to understand this quote. Actually, I won't challenge the allegation, but I would submit that Michigan fans are typically harder on their own team than on the opposition unless provoked. At least, that is my experience.
You know who are the worst fans, though, outside of Columbus? Iowa fans. They are without a doubt the most self-serving homers of all-time. And they are terrible to be around at a game. You just want to haul off and hit them and then demand, what the hell has your school ever done, period? Why are you like this?
He's a junior. He played against us in 2011 here in Ann Arbor.

Glad to hear other teams thinking our stadium isn't filled with a bunch of pansies anymore. Another team's stadium isn't supposed to feel welcoming. Doesn't mean you have to try and fight every away fan there and spill beer all over them, but it shouldn't feel like going into friendly confines.
I think Al Borges would agree with this statement.
I, for one, am a complete badass.
That ruffian!
Expect a rather ghastly reception at the Big House this autumn Saturday afternoon - you and your uncultured teammates.
Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah: Michigan fans are nasty to each other, man. They’re ruthless. And I wouldn’t have it any other way."
— Brian Rosenthal (@HuskerExtraBR) November 4, 2013
Well that changes everything...
There was a little animosity towards Nebraska fans who were traveling on their way to East Lansing the following weekend.
One of my friends left a restaurant early cause a few guys were heckling the group he was with, and he said one was wearing a Michigan jacket. I know that's an incredibly small portion of a large fanbase, but I did hear some people having encounters with Michigan fans while traveling up for the game. Nothing was overly out of line, just probably frustrations from the week before.
Don't worry though, you'll never reach the amount of assholeness Wisconsin fans hold in the eyes of Nebraskans.
must still be stinging about the thrashing he and the Cornmen took on their last trip to Ann Arbor. Bet your locker room was worse than the fans ...
Go Blue!
Question about Michigan (and Michigan State) fans: What is it with people from Michigan and waving their keys on third downs? I saw MSU fans doing it on Saturday, and I've seen Michigan fans do it too.
Or at least that's how it was explained to me my freshman year, in 1995. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
That's what they old me as a frosh in 1985
I think most people stopped doing the key play thing around 2000 or so.
When I was a student I went to a lot of road games and at some schools they did "keys for kickoffs."
We don't do that as much as we used to, but it used to be called a "key play." Finally people realized that it didn't really make much noise, and stopped.
I've seen SEC fans do it as well.
It means key play. The students used to take their keys out and jingle them on big plays. Yeah I know, lame as hell. I'm not really sure if they still do or not, but I haven't really seen anyone outside of the student section do it for a few years. I've seen other schools do it too though. Still lame.
Wow. Interesting tradition. I always figured it had some connection with Detroit and the auto industry. We just make as much noise as we can on third downs.
"I always figured it had some connection with Detroit and the auto industry."
That made me laugh.
"We just make as much noise as we can on third downs."
That made me die on the inside, because that's that's how it should be.
Tell Abdullah to grow some balls and understand this is football at uofm.. Go check OSU fans then let us know
Your fans are nothing but class. Serious, went to Lincoln last year and was shocked at their amazing hospitality.
I agree. I've not been to that many away games before, but I've never been thanked by opposing fans for coming, and I had two Nebraska fans thank me as I walked around Lincoln before and after the game.
2 Years ago, I sat near a few Nebraska fans and they were the classiest fans I've ever sat with. I went to my first road game this year at Penn State. I was also incredibly impressed at the hospitality and classiness they exhibted! I look forward to seeing the Nebraska fans in AA this weekend!
They seem to travel extremely well as a fanbase. There were so many of them at Ross Ade for their game with Purdue this year I had to double check to make sure the game wasn't being played in Lincoln.
Had a Husker fan sitting right behind us at the Big House actually let my pregnant wife move up next to him because a couple of, let's say "grossly oversized" Michigan fans in my row were taking up all the space. He had an empty seat next to him and invited her up next to him so that she didn't get squished. Even stayed nice despite the thrashing they took. I couldn't believe it.
Kind of nice.
"I wouldn't have it any other way" so maybe in his mind we are ruthless. Unless he has been coming to this site in the past three weeks and read what all the "Borges fans" have said in here.
besides Spartan fans
I'm guessing it's a {insert school name} type comment. He only played here once and Nebraska fumbled the game away in a blowout. I doubt M fans would've been very venomous in such a game.
I remember Bach and The Cutting Crew playing (opposite ends of the spectrum but indicative) at tailgates when I was a student. Michigan fans are VERY tame in comparison to most programs.
This board's comments of late are also on par or tame compared to other boards in my opinion.
we used to be ruthless man, we used to not give a fuck about discretion
