As a Michigan fan, still much to be thankful for
As Michigan fans stare at the almost inevitability of 7-5, lombasting the idiocy of GERG and the Angry Michigan BLANK Hating God, we do have things to be thankful for. There are reasons beyond "I/my Mom/my Dad went to Michigan" or "I live nearby" or "I like to be able to look at myself in the mirror" that makes us Michigan fans, and for that I would like to celebrate a few of the things that we as fans should be grateful for even during a time that has been well, trying, to say the least.
I am thankful for:
-Denard's smile (and his NCAA records)
-Les Miles for not taking the Michigan job
-ditto for Greg Schiano
-Wangler to Carter (no it never gets old)
-hockey season and the onmipresence of Red Berenson
-having the largest stadium in college sports
-being just good enough to keep Notre Dame as the largest disappointment year after year
-Lloyd Brady (no explanation necessary)
-having the best college football blog in the country to serve this fanbase
-Rich Rod's offense (yea I'm one of those crazy Rich Rod supporters)
What about you?

I'm thankful that at Michigan we have kids with character. And I dont mean character as in they are crazy, I mean they are good kids.

That we have 2 more games to look forward too.
GO BLUE BEAT OSU!

You get so worked up for these games you and you want to see the guys do well. Hard to stare down another off season. College Football is the best sport, but has the longest off season.
Thankful for the extra game.

I'm thankful that my kids want to be like Denard and Roy Roundtree, instead of Terrelle Pryor.
November 25th, 2010 at 8:38 PM ^
Do you mean you don't want your kids thinking that everyone kills someone?!?!
November 25th, 2010 at 7:15 PM ^
How about the best uniforms in the history of sports.............best fight song as well............most pure passion of any fanbase!!!!! I am most thankful for our kids who come here and work their butts off and are all in for MICHIGAN!! We will rise to the top again!!!!!

I'm thankful for Michigan actually playing a game after the OSU game this year!

I am thankful for memories of Desmond, Charles and Braylon.
I am thankful for the largest stadium in the country, with the best fight song and it being in one of the most livable cities in the country!

I'm thankful for David Brandon because I believe he'll make the right decision about RR.

Fuck you

Why'd you get rid of your picture? Thanks for all the "fuck you" posts. It makes it easier to neg you into Bolivian. Might as well make a new screen name. Happy Turkey Day!! : ) : )

we are still Michigan.
Edit: and thank you to the OP. I remember all of the things here, but they are not always at the forefront of my thoughts. Thanks to all the MGoPeople for reminding me of all of these.

....OSU. Why? Because if it wasn't for OSU, I wouldn't get to remember Tim Biakabatuka every year when they show the big game replays on ESPNC and BTN. Biakabatuka was almost like one of those old movies where someone sells his soul to the dark side for one good year. It was like he arrived out of nowhere, and then he was gone. But it was one glorious year, at least when he had the ball in his hands.
I think it's time for more excitement. Here's hoping Denard eventually breaks "Touchdown Tim's" single game rushing record against OSU.

I'm thankful that every Saturday in the fall I still get that nervous excitement while preparing to watch the Wolverines on my giant TV in my comfy loft with my beautiful wife that is carrying my first child (son) who already has some Wolverines gear.

I'm just thankful for being a true Michigander.
<br>Call me a walmart wolverine, but I'm still from the greatest state in the Union.

parking cars in the yard
using a shopping cart to pick up returnables, then went to stop and shop on main
scalpers give free tickets small children after the 1st quarter, watched and still have tix stubs from
- ND 1979
-Illinois 1980
-Wisc 1979
-Cal 1980
between parking cars and picking up returnables, i made $150 on saturdays before i was 10 and watched a lot of games for free.
remember when you could ride your bike to kerry town, bagel factory, or medical campus and your parents did not care or worry.

When our Michigan men finally put together the complete game, and get a few breaks, and beat the bucks! Followed by a dominant performance in the bowl game and a 9th win...after which as proud Michigan fans we can objectively say Michigan football is back, with more returning starters next year than any other team in the Big Ten, and a top 10 recruiting class coming in, and a more favorable schedule...our M program, after a short 2 year haitus, will be back to national relevance again within a month...BELIEVE!!

No matter what challenges are ahead of us..
November 25th, 2010 at 9:06 PM ^
Despite the tough days they have had, and the many opportunities to point fingers at team mates, they understand the concept of "TEAM" and show it in every interview.
The fine character of these young men is great to see. You would think any parent would want their kid on a team like we have at Michigan.

Be nice, its a holiday. But who is Lloyd Brady? A combination of Lloyd Carr and Tom Brady?
November 25th, 2010 at 9:40 PM ^
Who was photographed celebrating with the players after a win in the student section...resembles Tom Brady and Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey in "Dumb and Dumber)....and the subject of several hilarious threads..

I am thankful for going to the best damn university in the world here in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I can think of very, very few places where such achievement in sciences, liberal arts, engineering, technology, medicine, business, and everything else is reached every single year. Up at North Campus they develop the technologies we will be using tomorrow, right here within a few miles of us. At the hospital and medical school, they save lives everyday and give people hope. The CS Mott Children's Hospital allows sick children to have a full life, a chance to succeed just like everyone else. Be thankful and have pride that you went to or are affiliated with this fine institution.
I am also thankful to our football team, especially our seniors who went through so much adversity and toughed it out. They are fine Michigan Men and great representatives of this university we all love, and I put their names on par with all the past great names that have come through here. They might not have been quite as successful, but they faced struggles that no one has faced before in the history of the program and they are still here. Others quit. They are still here. Give thanks men.
Finally, I am thankful for the future. Our teams the next few years will be killing machines if we can field a defense. I watched the 1995 and 1997 games against OSU today, and our defense raped people. They attacked, they didn't get attacked. Once we right that ship we are sailing far and we are sailing fast.
To Michigan Football, past, present, and future.

I'm thankful for a December game in the Big House. Cannot wait until we host the Big Chill and we destroy Sparty's world record for largest hockey crowd.
November 26th, 2010 at 2:08 AM ^
I am thankful that even when our team endures some of the most painful seasons in the school's history, we still have a die-hard, loyal fan base who remain hopeful and obsessed with seeing that the program is back on track for a national championship. A fan base that still stays hopeful in beating a top 10 OSU team every year. A fan base that remains excited for a 2012 game against the 2010 national champions after a 5-7 season.
Those who stay will be champions.

I am thankful we have some of the most loyal fans in the country. Go Blue. Hope the football team fucks shit up in columbus.
