Michigan Cycling Team Annual Kit Order

Submitted by tdcarl on

Hey everyone,

Last year I posted a link to the Michigan Cycling Team's kit order for alumni and friends and it was greated with a warm reception.

The Michigan Cycling team is a Club-sport who competes in the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference. Other teams in our conference include MSU, OSU, Notre Dame, Indiana, Wisconsin, Purdue, Illinois, Case Western, Louisville, Northwestern, Cincinatti, Marquette, Miami (NTM), and a bevy of other small schools. Our conference also features a few schools that consider cycling a varsity sport including Marian and Lindenwood.

The kit order is once again live and this year they're added a couple more options including a special edition "Great Lakes" jersey.

These are the same exact uniforms that the team will be racing in next spring.

More information about the team can be found here :http://www.umcycling.org/

Below is a copy and paste of the information lifted from the team's facebook page:

Prices do tend to run a bit high, but such is the nature of being a small fish in the big pond of paying university royalties and the like. Any proceeds go towards helping get team member's to races and most importantly nationals.

Greetings Michigan Alumni, Parents, and Friends!

It's that time of year again. The leaves are changing, the air is cooling, Harbaugh has the football team rolling, and its time to stock up on all of that great Michigan cycling gear!

This year we have our classic Maize and Blue jerseys as well as some fun additions, including a special edition Great Lakes jersey and a warm winter jacket. Not only are you guaranteed to look great, but every purchase helps a Michigan student get to a race.

To login and place an order, please follow the link below:

The size chart can be found here:

If you have any questions, please feel free to email rgburnet at umich dot edu.

The store will be open until October 23rd. Once the store closes, it is closed for good. All orders should arrive in December before Christmas.

Note: Please note that all custom team store products are PREORDERS. All orders will be put into production once the store closes and will be delivered approximately 10-12 weeks after. You must place your order before the store closes.

Since you mentioned this last year, I got shorts and both a long and short sleeve jersey.  Will be buying additional shorts this year.

Cheers!

I see the jerseys just fine.  I have an order ready to go, but I was wondering if the team has any new old stock mens bibs size XL they want to sell?  I love the mitten jersey and warmers, but the bibs are pretty bland and costly, I'd rather give money right to the club if possible.

I'm not currently a member of the club (graduated in '14), so I'm not sure on that one. I don't think they usually order too many extras, but theres always a chance that someone ordered extras or something. Rob, the guy who is in charge of the kit orders, may be able to help you out. His email is rgburnet at umich dot edu

We never order extra stock. I'm in the process of taking over the kit orders for the club from Rob and we discussed this but the capital outlay necessary to have extras lying around just wasn't feasible. So the only way to order is through this kit order or the one that will happen sometime in January.

Wow. These are fucking beautiful. I am on the club triathlon team at UC Berkeley and I am so tempted to order this...colors are similar anyway right?

*Time for my yearly joke about cyclists*

I look forward to seeing you all in these around Ann Arbor blowing through stop signs and ignoring traffic lights.

Thanks for this! I ordered the blue official jersey last year, and it is absolutely the best bike jersey I own. Full zip front is fantastic, and the rubber grip liner on the bottom hem is invaluable. I'm strongly tempted to buy that Great Lakes jersey.

For those who may not have ordered from Primal before, the sizing does tend to run a bit snug/small. If you are even close to an "in-between" size, I'd recommend ordering a size up.

Thanks, as always, for posting this. I like the stuff I ordered last year - only (minor) issue is that the blue in the shorts doesn't quite match the blue in the jersey. (The jersey has the correct shade.) The Great Lakes jersey is a cool idea.

Thanks Raptor for making this available. Ordered some gear for the cold winter months of biking here in the Chicago area. Do they have Michigan biking helmets?

Just a comment about sizing:

I ordered a jersey last year... the sweet maize short sleeve with the big block 'M'!

I ordered a large because that's the size of every cycling jersey I own.  I'm 5'10" and a fit 175.

The large was too small for me.

I called Primal to see if I could exchange for an XL and couldn't because this was a custom order.

I ended up selling on eBay to break even as the jersey was not wearable.  For anyone else, recommend going to a local shop and trying on some Primal gear before ordering.  just my $0.02 worth, your mileage may vary so to speak.

and before that:  the team is great to have extended the opportunity to friends, family, and alumni.

I am extremely happy to pay for the opportunity to ride the roads in Pennsylvania with block M's on display.
