Michigan Charlotte snowflake thread

Good to beat any team by 55 points. Even if it's Charlotte, we didn't beat NMU or Le Moyne like this. Wagner needs to bring that type of game when we go up against Texas tomorrow. Fuck Axs television

You have to navigate thru the pop-ups and the rigamarole but once you do, you can livestream ANY sporting event. The pic isn't crystal clear and if there are a lot of people streaming, it can be choppy but it's been my "when all else fails" go-to site for a couple years now. I watched the Xavier game. AXS is horrible. Felt like I was watching a highschool ball game on public access.

- Wagner was great.  Provided a spark on offense and his defense was better today.  Manned up against a 7 foot Lithuanian and held his own.

- Irvin is slowly getting better.  Walton was much more aggressive.

- Spike is clearly still hurting - hasn't done much yet - using MAAR instead is ok, but he needs to get some dribble drive penetration and kick out to create opportunities for our shooters.

- Robinson is still just a shooter... but at least he was hitting shots today.  If he can hit 50% plus, he'll be a pretty good asset to stretch the floor.

Doesn't matter who it was against.

This is what this team can do...I'm just highly skeptical that it can be done on a consistent basis.

I said it yesterday, this team will win a couple of games it probably "shouldn't" as in...clear "upsets." Even though we can beat anyone.

The problem is we'll lose games we shouldn't as well.

But for tonight, enjoy, this was an impressive performance.

Just got to shoot well.  I'm glad we didn't settle for the 3 so much like we did against UConn.  If Irvin gets back to 100% and Walton gets more consistent, this could be a pretty good team.  I still want to see more from Dawkins and DJ Wilson.

And therein lies the problem.

You're not always going to shoot well. No one is. Maybe Steph Curry - we don't have Steph Curry.

So we're going to beat teams that are better than us because we do shoot well...we'll lose games we shouldn't because we don't.

I've said all year, I consider us a #7-10 seed and I think we have one hot shooting game in the tourney and knock off a #1 or #2 seed before losing in the Sweet 16. That's a realistic season in my eyes.

Looking forward to seeing how we fair tomorrow.

I preface this by saying I/my family I am with don't get AXS TV (I'm not actually convinced it exists) so I can't compare shot selection yesterday against today.

But over the course of a season open threes should be the best shot available other than a layup or a dunk (you have to shoot 60% from 2 to get the same EV as 40% from 3).  But they are also random enough that an offense that relies on perimeter shooting (at least at this level) will necessarily be inconsistent.  Which is all to say that even selecting good shots, nothing (against real opposition) will be guaranteed with this team unless someone can develop as a threat at 4/5.

I got to watch from start to finish and it aired on some kind of amateur channel. This felt lke a local broadcast station.

Awesome offensive performance...he had ZERO rebounds. I'd like to see him play the 4 against the teams that push us around.

Walton-LeVert-Irvin-Wagner-Doyle...with Dawkins coming off the bench for LeVert/Irvin in a 3 man rotation there isn't a bad lineup against bigger/stronger teams. Albrecht to backup Walton, Chatman and Wilson as your backup 4 and 5. An 8 man rotation is too short for a season, but for a game here and there...that would hold up.

The rebounds were almost picked up too quickly by Walton.  The guards were all over the place grabbing rebounds that there wasn't really anything for him to get his hands on.  There were a few that he almost rebounded, but he just put it back and got the points instead.

1) Did not read the box score, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Walton broke a record for rebounds in a game by a point guard under 6'2". 2) I love German centers who play for Michigan with the last name of Wagner. Good success rate. Should find more of them.
