Michigan in the bowl projections: Yikes

Submitted by DISCUSS Man on

ESPN has Michigan as the consensus B1G representative in the Texas Bowl facing Texas Tech.

Meanwhile, Jerry Palm has Michigan in the Gator Bowl......against Auburn.

The thing that scares me is that the Gator Bowl took 6-6 teams in 2011. Whatever happens the rest of the season, they probably would still take Michigan.

Little Caesars Pizza never looked so good compared to a game against Auburn....

When I say "rock bottom" it includes everything, as in we've dealt with App State, Rich Rod, etc. and now we've sunk to the level of getting dump-trucked by a MAC team in the Pizza Bowl while Ohio State goes like six years without losing a game and Sparty rules the state. It stings a little more given the heaping helping of false hopes we were fed a couple years ago.

I'm rooting for us in the BW3 Bowl.  Since I'm right around the corner from Sun Devil Stadium, it would be a nice x-mas gift to myself to go to the game. The opponent doesn't really matter if we continue the way we have - it could be a slaughter anyway you slice it.  I'd rather get destroyed by a SEC/B12 team than get embarrased by a WAC/MAC school...

Not really digging Baylor vs. UCF/Fresno State in the Fiesta Bowl, but I guess my tix will be cheap if these teams hold true.  Sad matchup compared to last year's KSU/Oregon game...

Please no. The last thing I want is Ohio State getting to the BCS Championship, which would have the added bonus of the Rose Bowl probably taking the B1G runner-up, which is almost sure to be Sparty.

On the other hand, maybe if we get ALL the genital stomps out this year, there won't be any left for '14.

Michigan has a reputation for traveling well to bowl games, but I have to wonder, if Michigan plays the rest of the season like the last two games if even many of the staunchest fans would just say "no thanks" and sit this one out.

Nobody wants the Auburn matchup less than me. I am married to an Auburn fan and the thought of my wife saying, "They played really hard, honey. It was a good game..." when we lose 30-0 is really unappealing.
