For the first time since 1981, neither Michigan or FYS will be in the GLI Championship.
Michigan needs this win. Badly. After that debacle last night.
Puck drop at 3:35 on FSN Detroit.

We will beat sparty enough said.
The last prediction of victory didn't go well, but today is a different day. /hopespringseternal
Lot of anti-UM people here
A bunch of butthurt rejects you mean?
Something like that. All the WMU and Tech fans are cheering against us. To be fair to them, I'm sure I would feel the same way if some other team had owned us for a decade or so
Damn, Guptill went hard into the boards.
Moffie! 1-0 U-M!!
Yay, Guptill's back!
FUCK! They tied it up.
Chelios had an unbelievable chance out front, but didn't even get a shot off. He's nowhere near as good as his father, that's for sure
Did Red even try to recruit him? Chris went to Wiscy, but I can't imagine him advising his son to pick East Lansing over Ann Arbor if he wasn't going to his dad's school.
SHIT! They score again.
MSU scores again
Red has lost this team.
I am hoping "Red has lost this team" was /s...
I can only hope this team can not completely embarrass themselves the rest of the year. The tourney-streak is done, but let's not piss all over ourselves while we're at it
...Trouba scored again for the US against Canada today. The Canucks beat us 2-1, though. Looks like he's the best player on two teams at once.
If the US beats Slovakia, they're in the quarters as a 3rd seed, facing the 2nd seed from Group A (currently the Czech Republic).
Chris Brown, why did you leave?
Brownie would have helped this dysfunctional Offense, but our defense would have still blown
I think if Trouba was here things would be much different.
2-2!!
Copp with the goal. And then he draws a penalty.
Kevin Lynch PPG!!!! 3-2 U-M!!
GO BLUE!
We finally play like we give a damn and look what it gets us. Two goals in less than a minute
I don't know if they're special ones or the normal ones for the season, but I really like these jerseys. They look like a much better change than any of the football jerseys did.
Phil diGiuseppe!!! 4-2!!!
Holy shit! SC top 10?
Finally! Only his 3rd goal this year. Hope this gets him going.
Dammit, Treais! WTF? 5 min major, elbow to the head.
Argh, post on shot down the ice, but then goal awarded for throwing the stick. 5-2 U-M.
Edit: Hyman had a breakaway on an empty net.
Great job by our PK, keeping Sparty 0/4 and getting a shortie.
He should lose the C for that elbow to the head, it was selfish, unnecessary, and dangerous. Luckily our PK come through with an empty netter. plays like that are the epitome of what's wrong with this team.
I think the elbow to the head was an accident partly. He meant to elbow him for sure, but Treias was turned up-ice and might not have seen that the guy was falling forward.
That said, it's a stupid move either way since the guy's already tussling with another player and you don't need to get involved and elbow him. And maybe it was on purpose. But that's how FYS plays, not Michigan (see: the game where FYS originated).
I'd like to take a look and see for myself, but I'm not in an area with FSD and a quick search of YouTube and MGoBlue didn't yield anything yet.
Seriously? Hoping this was an exaggeration. Moffie bumped the guy into Treais' path and he got one bad penalty. Lose the C for it? Get real.
Michigan wins 5-2!!! Let's hope this is springboard for 2013.
4 in the 3rd... GAME. BLOUSES.
HA!L
THANK YOU!
This was a great win and a very needed one at that. Michigan will have a little time off and a weird schedule coming up. Exhibition with US Under 18 team Friday which will be on Xfinity and bowling green at Yost on 1/8. A tuesday night.
Tech Wins 4-0
Pheonix Copley first goalie to shut out both opponents.
Except for Billy Sauer in 2007 blocking all 88 shots over the two games and playing into double overtime in the championship game.
Steve Shields taught him well!
Wow. tech wins the GLI for the first time since Pearson was a player in 1980.
What is FYS? Sorry, it is State?
