Michigan basketball vs Ohio Open Thread [Come on back if you want]

Submitted by San Diego Mick on

Okay folks, the time is almost here, big game, big opportunity to make a statement.

BEAT ohio!!!!

Edit: Party moves to the other thread: Michigan basketball vs Ohio Open Thread (2nd half). I'll open this one up again after the game finishes, I just can't follow both at this pace on my own. JGB.

Apologies for any problems this caused. Like I said, I just couldn't do both at the same time. Comments back on about twelve minutes after being disrupted.

You people blaming the refs are hilarious.

Michigan is playing like shit and OSU is playing great. Bottom line.

We can't get into any kind of offense.

We're too passive - they're in our grill and we can't attack back offensively.

This was my biggest worry with this team, I think they're soft. They don't do well against any kind of pressure.

We have to go at them and get to the foul line until they back off.

One team is playing defense, and one isn't.  Probably not a great strategy.  Coach B needs to wake the team up.  Burke and Hardaway have started this game about as poorly as possible on both ends.  They aren't alone, but they're expected to be the leaders of this team.

I want to stick around and watch this, but I can't. Just... angry and frustrated and I mean, it's been a while since something really, really good happened to Michigan sports. And this was the chance and we've crapped the bed.

This is exactly how I feel. Go figure the one time M lays down this season, it's against fucking ohio. I'm tired of being their bitch in football and basketball.

This is a good eye-opener. This is the first time we've played a game where the refs allowed this kind of contact. Right now we're not dealing with it well, but in time we'll come to expect it and deal with it properly. Go Blue!

Finally! Someone attacks the basket and gets the foul.

The refs can't call a foul if you don't ATTACK the pressure. You have to go straight at them.

The way they're playing, Craft could have 3 fouls by now, just go at them, get fouled. Live on the free throw line and beat up the backups when the starters are on the bench in foul trouble.

if Michigan is going to act like a world-beater then let's start scheduling like a world-beater. Let's actually have a road game in OOC versus a ranked team so it's not B1G season when we get our first test.

Everyone so excited 30 minutes and now we won't even finish 3rd in the big ten. Give me a break. Let's see how we finish. 1 of 35 games this year.

but if it ends like it's begun, it will be a big wake-up call for the team. They've had a lot of smoke blown up their asses over the last 10 days, and after this it's back to reality. Maybe they aren't the best team in UM history after all.
