Michigan Basketball vs. Kansas NCAA Tournament Game 3 Open Thread

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
I'm sure there will be a Liveblog (because why jinx it?) but here's the Open Thread for this one too (because why jinx it?). From a fine season to a really good one, maybe more. Two down, four to go. Why not us? Time to shock the world. Go Blue!

but am I the only one who hates listening to Marv Albert?  Sexual deviate stuff aside, he's also annoying as fuck.

The astronaut commercial sucks too.  Pretty much everything sucks.

Wnning the NCAA tournament is about matchups, and we just do not match up well with Kansas at all. Not that we can't win this game, but this is like lay-up practice for Kansas.

I just don't know what Burke is going to do to get going.  He's getting stopped at the point of attack every time, he's missing his heat check 3's, Kansas is perfectly rotating off screens and Burke isn't able to go anywhere.

I think Tim Hardaway Jr should be taking the ball up the court just for a different look and let Burke act as the off ball guard to see if he can some off some screens and hit shots in rhythm.

I just thought the same thing...but remember 34 points are in the paint. We're not making them take tough shots.

So I don't think that logic works right now because it's not like they're hitting shots. They're getting dunks, putbacks and layups.

Still...that's a pretty high percentage. Sometimes people just miss. How many bunnies have we missed? This game is going to come down to our guards not turning it over and actually making their shots.

...and usually you'd say "no way they can keep this up."

But with 34 points in the paint, it's not like we're making them make shots.

Let's get them out of the paint and see how the chips fall.

Minus that early onslaught by Loiusville, Oregon's been playing it pretty even.  Not that does a lot of good when you're down by 10.

I would really like to know what's up with Morgan because he should be backing up Mitch, not Horford.  Horford gave up the inbound dunk, didn't have the sense to get on Withey leaving Trey on him in the paint which led to a foul and generally hasn't contributed.  Morgan at least got to the foul line and a steal in his short time.

I'm fine with Trey's game, it will open up more for him if other guys are scoring.  The shots are pretty evenly distributed so far tonight.  They need to clean up the defense though, they are lunging and leaving paths to the paint wide open.

If I'm Kansas, I'm wondering why I'm not up a lot more.
