They are shopping for a rival. Normally it would be Penn State, but not in basketball.
I live in Maryland, in the DC area. They are in awe of Michigan, actually. They don't view it as beating a depleted team. They view it as beating Michigan.
They honor us by caring so much about us.

Not sure of his name, but the kid that transfered from multiple schools and ended up at Maryland talking smack after he hit a 3 in a close game in the first half over a walk-on, not a D-bag move??

Nope, right there with you! No Trimble or Wells next year. Plus a number of seniors graduating and only a 3* coming in next year. We will see what hapens after the honeymoon year.

The planets aligned for them. They barely beat a Michigan football team that got Hoke fired, and they beat a injured, freshman-laden Michigan NIT team in unconvincing fashion.
Sounds about right. They are who we thought they were. Pretty good, not great, and no match for full-strength Michigan.

but JB allowed it. it's pretty well known that MD is a good 3 pt shooting team and pretty poor inside the arc. so the last D you should play is the 1-3-1 which allows open 3s. the fact he stuck with it so long is inexcusable.
plus 10 min of lonergan in the first half was also dumb. i can see giving him a few minutes to give the guys in foul trouble a blow, but you can't sit there and watch your lead turn into a 9 pt deficit with 3 starters sitting next to you.

If we can give the #14 team in the country a fight on the road, with 3 freshman in our starting lineup, imagine how good this team can be next year. Just need to stay healthy and this team can make a run!

I didn't get to see a second of the game, but that would appear to be the difference maker to me (considering we took about as many 3's but only shot 24%)

Surprisingly, we could have withstood their great 3 point shooting and our piss-poor three point shooting. But we missed too many easy shots around the rim that they then rebounded. There were at least 5 of those in a game that was decided by 10 points..

not a good game for him on the offensive end. MD is a team he should have success against. they don't have a good big. 2-7 from the field and a few missed bunnies.

at least we did very well at the free throw line? 13-15. but so was MD. our FT defense has always sucked for some reason.

Good effort by an overmatched squad. I do like seeing Chatman getting a little more run, and while the young guys struggled a bit Maryland also shot incredibly well from 3. Sometimes it just isn't your day.
Win the next two and head into the NIT with some momentum.

he's definitely improving. confidence is the key.
irvin is improving his overall game too; especially his dribble drives. 3 more assists today and he should have had a couple more.

he really did nothing once he left JB and UM. he would have been a solid contributor the last two years at UM. who knows, he may have been the difference in the two tourny runs.
