We also play UConn in January (the 17th, I think). On the whole it's a manageable schedule. We've got one rough stretch in mid-to-late January (from UConn through MSU) but before and after that it's mostly favorable. There could be a lot at stake when we visit Breslin at the end of the year.

I see us potentially coming out of the non-conference portion of our schedule (UCONN not withstanding) with only one blemish (Kansas on the road). After that, a rough run through says 11-7 in the conference and maybe a loss to UCONN sprinkled in. A couple wins in the BTT and we have ourselves a 5 or 6 seed out of a strong conference looking for a Sweet Sixteen bid!

Bad luck getting Ohio State at home on Jan 3. A good majority of students will still be on break because classes don't start until the 6th and the dorms probably won't open back up until the 5th. I think if we can make it out of January with a decent record we will be set with the tournament this year. I don't think we will have the high profile upsets like the Duke and UCLA games last year, but we should hang close with Kansas and UConn.

Not that I'm anyone special, but I feel like we can beat UConn this season.. at least that's what I'm hoping for. We hung around with them last year and this year we should be even better.

Yeah you are right, I just looked over this years roster for UConn and they seem very green to me and the players that have started don't seem too productive. We are bringing back all of our major contributors which will definitely give us a distinct advantage over them. I'm sure that the atmosphere at Crisler will be the same as the Duke game last year so that will help. Even last year, we hung in with them to the very end of the game even leading them at a few times.

about us not being the underdog against UCONN as well, they've lost talent from last year while our losses were more of a leadership role than primary players on the court. We should be able to make up leadership losses from other players that have been in the system for a couple years. I'm not getting into our basketball right now but that time will come and I'm looking forward to this season. Finally! Michigan is getting it's B-ball program back on the map.
