Evan Hill was the the winning pitcher.
I thought that myself when I read that article that talked about a Data Scientist(tm)
Nice. Complete reversal of the game at Wrigley, it sounds like. That one was ugly.
I have been pleasantly surprised at how this team has been playing..
I did not expect Bakich's first year to go this well either...
We still have an outside shot of winning the conference which would be crazy
Feels like the team was really suffering from pitching issues in years past; this year they've definitely gotten better production from the staff. Happy to see them coming back after some down years.
Evan Hill is just a stud. Possibly our best pitcher since Putnam?
Up 2-0 in the bottom of the 8th in Game 2 today. Would be great to win 2 of 3 this weekend. McAllenen had a great 7 innings on the mound it looks like (4 H, 2 BB, 4 K). Croneworth on the mound now
N'W ties it up. The 2nd run was on an error.
Top 9 now, Zott leads off with single, bunted over, then picked off. Sexton singles. Martin flies out. Bottom 9 coming up
3 errors today and the game tying and game winning runs for N'W were unearned. Errors will do you in most times. Tough loss.
Now 8-5 in conference. I know Indiana won at least two games this weekend, Nebraska won at least one, OSU a couple as well. Minnesota had a bye. Things tightening up in conference.
Michigan loses, 3-2, in the 10th.
The top half of the Big Ten:
1. Minnesota (7-2)
2. Nebraska (11-4)
3t. Michigan (8-4)
3t. Indiana (8-4)
5. Ohio State (9-6)
Michigan is at Indiana for 3 this weekend. A series win is probably required to keep us in contention for the top 2 and the all-important bye in the Big Ten Tournament.
