Michigan Bars in Jacksonville?

Submitted by miCHIganman1 on

So I just moved to Jacksonville and thought I'd rely on the trusty Michigan Bar Locator to find a bar to watch the game.  However, it appears as if there is not a Michigan Bar within a 2 hour drive and Jacksonville does not have a local alumni chapter.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good spot to watch the game?  The specific area I moved to is Jacksonville Beach.  Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

And yes, I made sure to get this post in before the season OT rules begin.

Try the Mudville Grille (the one on Beach Blvd though it's further from you.). I watched the ND game there last year, and there was a good group of M alumni and fans. Had a great time, and everyone was friendly.

I get to Jax regularly to visit family.

The University of Michigan Spirit Group of Jacksonville, Florida will be meeting at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday September 1, 2012 to watch the UM/Alabama football game at BlackFinn American Grille, located on Big Island Drive at St. Johns Town Center Mall in Jacksonville.

My good friend just bought that bar. His name is Steve Myers. He and his brother Tim are huge Michigan fans and both still live in Coldwater MI. Went to my first game at the big house with his brother. They just remodeled the whole place, near the beach. Check it out.

there are some sports bars but not by the beach. nothing like scorekeepers that's for sure. but you can't have a beer with your feet in the sand in Ann arbor like you can at the lemon bar so its a give and take deal.

I live near St. Johns mall in Jax. I also know a few M fans that we will be meeting up with here. Feel free to shoot me a tweet. @roachgoblue Go Blue!

Where is the Town Center?  Is that inside the I-295 Loop?  I'm potentially moving to JAX later this year and definitely need to find Red Wing and Wolverine friendly bars.  The last time that I was there (2011 Gator Bowl) wasn't so kind to Michigan.

I'm amazed how many Michigan fans are out there offering friendly advice.

When I was i Jacksonville I would always spend a decent amount of time in Players in San Marco. Not exactly a Michigan bar, but a decent place if you're into a halfway dive environment.

Grew up in Brighton, MI (classmates with Henson and Dave Pearson) then moved to Jax at 18 in 1999. SNEAKERS at the Beach has a wide range of fans including a large amount of maize & blue. Keep in mind, this is a Navy town and MICHIGAN is the "most favored nation" so no problem finding friendly's in there. Not to mention the 100 t.v.'s all tuned in. MUDVILLE is titled a "Michigan friendly bar" but when I've been there i saw no evidence of such. I'll repeat an earlier post, this is SEC country, but BLUE beats SEC regularly so use that ammunition. Big Football town is Jax. You're gonna love it!

I believe a "spirit club" is starting up this year in Jacksonville. I think a bunch of Michigan fans will be at Blackfinn to watch the game on Sept 1 at Blackfinn in the Southside area.
