Michigan Bar in [Insert Location]

BUMPED SO PEOPLE CAN ASK THAT QUESTION IN A PRE-MADE THREAD TODAY - LSA

Hello MgoCollective,

Does anyone know of Michigan bars in Vancouver, BC?  I'll be up there for the weekend with my folks, and I need a place to watch the game, preferably with fellow Wolverines.  I'm staying downtown (a few blocks from Canada Place), and there's plenty of sports bars, but which one?

I've already checked the map, the thread, the tag, and searched the rest of the board (all I get are posts about hockey riots...).

in the couple years I've been here. I tried asking in the other "Where to watch the game in ______?"  thread the other day but got no response. I don't spend a lot of time downtown though (live in East Van) so that may be part of it. 

If I hear of something I'll post here for you.

Long term, it may have to be a sticky thread, at least this season. I think what needs to happen is that someone - not me, because nobody has time for it on my end - will need to collect the intelligence and keep the information for diary purposes. Either that, or people could just update the map themselves as it is not locked. Definitely a guideline that is evolving here, although only two threads so far is not bad. I do fear tomorrow though.

Just out of curiosity, I've always been a little confused about why these threads are so hated, aside from being annoying due to the sheer number. I'm also aware that it can be searched and there's certainly some that are right in front of the user's nose (but definitely not all). But why such vitriol? I've never been able to figure it out. It seems like it's treated like a shitpost when the majority of the time the OP only has genuinely good intentions in mind.

Makes them feel good, they know the "insider" coolness of MGOBLOG, or maybe the whole interwebz,  of being a jerk.  This is a bad place for it,  you add the fan base's over all better than you atitude and tendency to look down their nose at others, with anonymity you get people who like to point out others precieved short comings.  Why would anyone come to a site dedicated to Michigan sports and ask if there is a place to watch Michigan sports with others?    Atleast the political people aren't here to spew bs.

I'll create a new Google Map that segments it all out. It'll be a work in progress for a bit, but it'll get done. Watching my alma mater on a football field on most Saturdays is pretty painful so this'll be a nice white noise project. I'm just glad I chose to be a Wolverine for grad school...
