Michigan is Back (so says the New York Times)
It's good to know it's not just us talking to ourselves.

sure the Gophers would have been in trouble even if the good guys would have won yesterday.
It will be interesting to see if Harbaugh and the team use the bye week to install some new wrinkles in the offense.

Would like to see Peppers run out of the wildcat, hopefully we will see him getting more offensive possessions from here on out.
October 18th, 2015 at 11:25 PM ^
you won't see him again until The Game, Penn State if we are needing a spark late in that game. He's gonna be kept for big games/desperate situations, risk isn't worth the reward in non-major games.
Edit: I should say he won't get the ball again until then. He would be an effective decoy, but I imagine it would only be a play call in which his being a decoy doesn't require contact on his part.
October 19th, 2015 at 4:35 AM ^
agree. Peppers will be played on offense only if he is required to given the in-game situation. Come OSU we will see him no matter what the in-game situation. This only applies to this season. Next year we will see Peppers on offense more frequently.
Go Blue!

i also think rudock will keep the ball a few times on the zone read. it was there each time on saturday. the DE crashed into the line every time. if only he kept it on that last drive, first down easy.
October 19th, 2015 at 12:27 PM ^
+1,000,000. Just never bothered to try vs MSU, could have snuck a couple easy first downs that were not coming easy in this game

Uhh, I hate the wildcat as I think it is so gimmicky. But then if everything he is on O he is the target then sure why not.
October 18th, 2015 at 11:03 PM ^
I wouldn't be surprised if we see some more shut outs in the near future... Minny's offense leaves a lot to be desired...
October 18th, 2015 at 11:58 PM ^
so does psu
October 19th, 2015 at 1:57 PM ^
The only wrinkle I'd like to see is hitting an open receiver in stride downfield with a thrown football.
October 19th, 2015 at 2:02 PM ^
I'll be very surprised if we don't beat the absolute living crap out of those rodents.
October 19th, 2015 at 5:47 AM ^
I like that Harbaugh looks like I did after the game. Stunned and a little sick and looking for some grounding. We have the best coach imaginable for UM. They'll make a movie about him one day.

Michigan was back the minute they hired Harbaugh. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the personnel.

We're already a great team outplaying great teams. The playoff hype wasn't off base. Fluke of the century is the only thing keeping us from being in the playoff conversion right now. I agree that we were back the minute we hired Harbaugh but don't take away from these current players. They're good enough to be champions.
October 18th, 2015 at 11:12 PM ^
The future is as bright as ever. Minus a once in a lifetime miracle, this is a Top 7 team already. Imagine when Jim has his kids and a couple years of Harbaughing instilled. Perennial NC contender. Go Blue
October 19th, 2015 at 2:03 AM ^
Nailed it. Exact right take on the state of affairs. So many good days ahead. Don't waste another second lamenting about a freak play.
October 19th, 2015 at 8:42 AM ^
Early success is not necessarily a great leading indicator of sustained success. Look at Hoke for example. Sometimes a new voice in the locker room is enough for the team to play a little better and show much better results early, but that success is not sustainable. That being said, I fully expect Harbaugh to have this program on a long term successful path.
October 18th, 2015 at 11:14 PM ^
It is better to be lucky than good (we all know this after yesterday). The team will move forward and be better than yesterday. Go Blue!
October 18th, 2015 at 11:17 PM ^
I went crazy when Jabrill almost hit the endzone on his first offensive play. Even on that pass play he turned nothing into something. MSU has good speed on defense and he blew through them. I expect to see him on offense more (a decoy sometimes obviously).
I have a feeling that Minnesota will not have a happy Halloween.
October 19th, 2015 at 2:12 AM ^
We need him. 4-5 touches per game on offense seems right.
October 19th, 2015 at 7:24 AM ^
Was his first touch on offense but not his first time on the field offensively.
October 19th, 2015 at 7:28 AM ^
What?
October 19th, 2015 at 10:31 AM ^
It depends what you mean by "his first offensive play" - first time he touched the ball on offense or the first time he was on the field for an offensive snap. I suspect many people would interpret that to be the first time he was on the field for an offensive snap whether or not he touched the ball. He was in at that end of the first half, but didn't get the ball. That proceeded the play that you referenced.
October 18th, 2015 at 11:18 PM ^
and we'll learn from this and move on.
I think we end top 10 and take The Game this year to end on a high. I also think we will be the only team to beat Ohio State in regular season this year.
October 18th, 2015 at 11:28 PM ^
Because Michigan is about to turn their world upside-down. D'antoni is a good coach, but we have the best one on earth. It's going to be a long time before MSU beats us again. Harbaugh, and Michigan, will not forget what happened yesterday.
And we're beating OSU this year. I'll take that win over Staee any day.
October 18th, 2015 at 11:50 PM ^
"but we have the best one on earth."

Well, Belichick has a slightly more talented QB than Harbaugh had in San Fran...
October 19th, 2015 at 8:06 AM ^
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. And that's what MSU needed to beat us. Blind, dumb luck. This entire team, minus a few players, all come back next year, and none of them will forget what happened. I will not predict a W because doing that a year out is stupid, but they will go into EL next year looking for blood.
But I agree with your final sentence. I'll happily take a win against OSU over a win against MSU any and every day of the week.

Whose only positive comments on this site are in regards to our rivals, MSU, and the worst Michigan coach in living memory, Rich Rodriguez.
October 19th, 2015 at 12:19 AM ^
In 2011, our year of fools gold, there were 3 close wins that could have been losses. We could have just as easily been 8-5.
This year so far, there were no close wins that could have been losses. We either blew teams out, or lost 2 close games to top 10 teams. The only thing you can say is that we could have just as easily been 7-0.
That's sustainable success. That's a foundation to build on.
Lose big . . . lose close . . . win close . . . win big.

I mean MSU has just beaten the crap out of us the past handful of years. Saturday, that was not the case, it was a hard fought game and we had them dead to rights. We led the whole way and we played smart, hard nose football, and I think everyone saw we are the better team by just a smidge...............EFFFF that last play.
I am just now letting myself think about it again.
