Michigan AD: Interns Wanted
For those students that desire some experience in the sporting world, and definitely favor the Maize and Blue, this job is for you:
Qualified applicants will assist the Media Relations staff in coverage of the University’s 25 Division I varsity sports. Interested applicants must have at least one or two years of experience in a college or university sports information office as a student or intern.
They are hiring two interns for those interested. Good luck for those that may apply.
Are they also looking for any 37 year old, growing more rotund by the pint glass alumni?
How about any unemployed atmospheric scientists with no sports marketing experience?
You know physics. Who doesn't want to hire an applied physicist?
On all counts. Although, I count grad school as being unemployed which is technically not true.
I would hire you. Then you could conquer global warming and get the media to stop dumping on us at the same time.
Couldn't hurt in any case. It's not like they'll be spending 125k on the selection committee. Might be able to slip in unnoticed.
that's what she said
Might be able to slip in unnoticed.
That's what she said? Ohh man, I'm sorry.
I wish, so bad, that I could afford to take a pay cut to 18,000 and lose my benefits. Heck, I would even work nights somewhere to make up the difference in pay. But I HAVE to have benefits.
I'm going to apply even though I have no sports information experience. Any tips, Blazefire?
BTW, how does one get sports information experience when the sports info office wants you to already have experience before you apply? Unpaid internships at other universities?
Get the same position at West Virginia.
And you won't get it. Trust me, the point of an unpaid internship in the SID is so that you won't feel bad when they don't let you touch anything. At that point, you watch and learn and hand out papers at a press conference. After a year of doing that, you MIGHT be ready to tackle some actual work.
The won't let somebody with zero experience ANYWHERE near something that the donating alumni will see.
Those who apply will be champions!!!
Are they looking for kids that are just about to graduate high school? I wish.
