His teams sucked on the road - especially after 2012.

In 2012 we had the breakout Devin Gardner game @ Minnesota. We also destroyed Purdue that year.

But in the Carr era we had huge wins @ND and @PSU and @MSU that people remember...I think that's why it doesn't always feel like we've won on the road.

Michigan has been terrible on the road for the last several years against anything remotely resembling a quality team.  The last quality win?  Sugar Bowl?  Capital One? Notre Dame 06'? Ouch.

  1. UNC could go down @ Virginia Tech in Beamer's last game at home - Blacksburg will be rocking even though it's a noon game. Their starting QB - Michael Brewer is also back healthy and playing. I look for a Hokie win.
  2. Memphis/Temple is an intriguing matchup as well...no real impact on Michigan though. I suppose the worse Temple looks, you can associate that with ND...but ND's got to lose for Michigan to jump them, so it's not an "eye contest" conversation.
  3. LSU/Ole Miss is of interest to Michigan because they could be a Captial One/Outback Bowl matchup - that's also the only SEC game of note.
  4. UCLA and Cal have shots to put the nail in Pac-12 Champion coffin
  5. MSU must lose. They just must.
  6. Go BC!
  7. Baylor/Okie St. will be on FOX or FS1 --- TCU/Oklahoma also very intriging.

That's actually pretty consistent with the Sagarin prediction:

12) 85.97 (Michigan)

39) 77.14 (Penn State)

85.97-77.14 = 7.83

7.83 - 2.71 (HFA for PSU) = 5.12 in favor of Michigan.

I'll take that. It will be an interesting game regardless.

Meh, as Brian says, the last thing that happened is the thing that will always happen. There's reason for concern from the Indiana game, particularly for Ohio, but there's relatively little penn state can do to replicate Indiana's success. This defense isn't going to go from elite to terrible from one guy going down, certainly not against a team that got shut out in the first half by northwestern a week ago. If Rudock can keep up his streak of good performances, I think we win comfortably.

I think our defense matches up much better against PSU. The question is will our offense be able to put up enough points to win. I don't think ruddock will have too much time to throw in the pocket and rush of fens might struggle more than the Indiana game. Hopefully our oline can play tough enough to keep the pressure of ruddock

Against Indiana

- UM defense surrendered 27 points in regulation. Same number as OSU. (This does not include punt return)

- UM defense only allowed 65 yards more than OSU in regulation.

- Sudfeld and Howard were injured and sat out a good portion of the OSU game.

- Michigan defense is better than it appeared against the run as the UM defensive gameplan     called for deep safeties in order to contain Sudfeld. They conseded some yards on the             ground to limit the deep ball. The UFR will illuminate this.

- Lastly, UM and OSU both won by 7 points.

Lol hackenberg will pick us apart just like the rest of the above avg QB's we have faced. Without Glasgow they will be able to run up the middle, and also Glasgow covered up the weakness of the LB corps. This is not a good matchup for us. Psu has good defense and a good QB. Take PSU +5. Michigan-17 PSU-26

The Vegas spread or the spread offense. But unlike with hoke we play slower and I fact despite the d yesterday we won the time of possession and the game. This matters. Both but the game more so

I just wish one game Michigan's D would get a bunch of turnovers!  I would worry more if this was an 8 PM night game. We seem to play better at Noon.
