His teams sucked on the road - especially after 2012.
In 2012 we had the breakout Devin Gardner game @ Minnesota. We also destroyed Purdue that year.
But in the Carr era we had huge wins @ND and @PSU and @MSU that people remember...I think that's why it doesn't always feel like we've won on the road.

then Harbaugh will have solved at least the road conference issue imo bc in his first year we will have won every road conference game.

Michigan has been terrible on the road for the last several years against anything remotely resembling a quality team. The last quality win? Sugar Bowl? Capital One? Notre Dame 06'? Ouch.

And Rodriguez won three total road Big Ten games. So yeah, we have sucked on the road for a while. Now we're winning ugly. So that's fine.

A 28-24 win at Notre Dame in 2010? Granted, Notre Dame didn't have a great team in 2010 (they finished 8-5 with a 33-17 Sun Bowl win against Miami-FL), but they weren't a pushover, and this play wasn't too shabby.

Yeah, you're right. I guess I was thinking against a decent team.

- UNC could go down @ Virginia Tech in Beamer's last game at home - Blacksburg will be rocking even though it's a noon game. Their starting QB - Michael Brewer is also back healthy and playing. I look for a Hokie win.
- Memphis/Temple is an intriguing matchup as well...no real impact on Michigan though. I suppose the worse Temple looks, you can associate that with ND...but ND's got to lose for Michigan to jump them, so it's not an "eye contest" conversation.
- LSU/Ole Miss is of interest to Michigan because they could be a Captial One/Outback Bowl matchup - that's also the only SEC game of note.
- UCLA and Cal have shots to put the nail in Pac-12 Champion coffin
- MSU must lose. They just must.
- Go BC!
- Baylor/Okie St. will be on FOX or FS1 --- TCU/Oklahoma also very intriging.

But 2 solid games to watch in each time block (except the late late game)

MSU MUST LOSE. Don't screw this up Buckeyes

That's actually pretty consistent with the Sagarin prediction:
12) 85.97 (Michigan)
39) 77.14 (Penn State)
85.97-77.14 = 7.83
7.83 - 2.71 (HFA for PSU) = 5.12 in favor of Michigan.
I'll take that. It will be an interesting game regardless.

Against Indiana
- UM defense surrendered 27 points in regulation. Same number as OSU. (This does not include punt return)
- UM defense only allowed 65 yards more than OSU in regulation.
- Sudfeld and Howard were injured and sat out a good portion of the OSU game.
- Michigan defense is better than it appeared against the run as the UM defensive gameplan called for deep safeties in order to contain Sudfeld. They conseded some yards on the ground to limit the deep ball. The UFR will illuminate this.
- Lastly, UM and OSU both won by 7 points.

I'm predicting another close game. We can't run the ball. I say they give half the RB snaps to Peppers.

I just wish one game Michigan's D would get a bunch of turnovers! I would worry more if this was an 8 PM night game. We seem to play better at Noon.
November 16th, 2015 at 2:42 AM ^
Is this before or after Jim's announcement about our d-line? Otherwise, we have a 288 pound Godin getting pushed around.
November 16th, 2015 at 8:06 AM ^
With the injuries to the D-line I don't see how we are favored at PSU. The offense is doing better but this game is a toss up.
