If anyone takes this team lightly, I will slap you in the face.

We are the last fanbase who should be taking anyone lightly. Especially in the NCAAs.

Luckily, Michigan got Auburn Hills so that should serve as a de-facto home court advantage.

I just pray that the Thursday game is on in the afternoon or night, and there is no scheduling conflict with hockey in the CCHA Playoffs on Saturday SHOULD Michigan advance to the Third Round.

Please explain how you come to the conclusion as a fan base we have anything to do with the out come of the game if we take a team lightly?  If by sitting at home and saying a team they are playing is a push over effects the teams mind set going into a game, we have more pressing issues to worry about as a fan base.

is still terrifying, many years later.  In all fairness to me, ixcuincle had a cute little white bunny as his avatar, and I thought his post about the jackrabbit was ironic.  He quickly switched his avatar up, thus making my response look wacky.  (shakes fist at air)

no matter what.  I just really want the Big 10 to do well.  I am so sick of all the SEC football love.  It would be great if the Big 10 just dominates, showing everyone what a tough season we had!!

Go Blue!!

VCU is extremely reliant on its press.  Beat the press and you score.  I would not be shocked if they lost to Akron, and I'm not that concerned about them if we have to play them.  Remember, we have one of the lowest turnover averages in the country.  I'm sure Shaka Smart is not happy to be in our subregional.

But I new we were going to get South Dakota State or VCU. We got both - if we win the first game. We can beat any team. The reverse is true when we our shooters are cold.

and I like our matchup with (probably) VCU. When people turn the ball over less than VCU does, VCU loses. Trey Burke will carry us to victory

Could you imagine. Could you even IMAGINE if Michigan played san diego state and Steve Fisher.

Awkward...

I think Kansas is insanely overrated and we couldn't ask for a much better path to the elite eight. Of the one seeds, I'd pick Kansas to face and VCU and SDSU is beatable for sure.

I think this team deserves a 3 based on the totality of its season, but they really do not deserve it based on their inability to finish the season strongly. They only have themselves to blame for losing to Wisconsin twice and Penn State on the road. A few shots go the other way and this team is a two, or maybe even a one, seed, but they just could not win when it counted most.

Oh well, at least they are in Auburn Hills. Maybe a 4 seed will give them a chip on their shoulder to go out and prove others wrong.

Go Blue!

Lock down their PG and hit the boards.  Their tallest player with many minutes is 6'8" and tallest player period is 6'9".  Box them out and go crazy athletic.

Minnesota beat them earlier in the year by 24 or something like that.  Take it seriously and show up for the game and let's go.

No way they should be 3 seeds ahead of us.

New Mexico: Lost 81 to 58 to Air Force....Seriously?

Marquette: Lost 82 to 49 to Florida. (who is also a 3rd seed). Yep...Marquette is just as good as Florida. Louisville beat you by 19. Plus, you lost to Green Bay. Yep....Green Bay. Pleeeezzzzz

New Mexico has a better RPI than Michigan and didn't lose to Penn State and wasn't 6-6 in it's last twelve games. I appreciate this is a Michigan fan blog, but the Maize and Blue glasses have been a little thick over the past couple weeks with this team. If you looked at it through unbiased eyes, that #1 ranking was a long time ago and this should have not been a surprise.

Against SDSU we need to play straight up man...I would say we need to go big and play 2 post players to gather up all the boards from BOTH teams. And go get the win.

Assuming we play VCU in the next round...we need to play a lot more of our traditional lineup and we need to go ZONE more than we normally do.

Both of these games are winnable, but both are going to require Coach Beilein to come out of his comfort zone. Game one, he's going to have to play Morgan and McGary together. Game two he's going to have to play zone for extended minutes.

Let's hope we do both.
