I wouldn't try to extrapolate one game's result to the next, for example MSU lost pretty badly @Minnesota and then thumped them at home.  Counter-examples to your logic are numerous.

I would say that before our matchup I was confident we'd win at home, after that matchup I was less confident but I think we'll have an answer for them in our own house.  Morgan and LaVert both bring excellent defensive elements to this team, so that should help against MSU.  Appling has looked terrible in his last two outings as well, so hopefully he continues to be a non-factor for State.

B1G teams are in the Final Four.  Just like the regular season, we're going to beat each other up.

And I didn't mean bracket buster like they'll run the table.  I think some people wil expect them to go to the Final Four or better, but I just don't see it.

We're going to have 7 teams in the tourney more than likely. Michigan and Indiana are looking like number 1 seeds right now, so all you need is Ohio, MSU or Wisconsin in one of the other brackets and we have a pretty good shot at 3 in the final four

I'd be shocked if we sent 3 teams to the Final Four. Hell, I'd be surprised if we even had 2. The tournament is so unpredictable and upsets happen every year. There will be at least one Big Ten team that goes home early, probably first round, due to a major upset. It just happens. The conference sure has the talent to send multiple teams to the Final Four, but the odds of it happening, in my opinion, are small. Hard to win that many games in a row against solid competition.

It's been a lot. Its been a roller coaster that for some reason seemed like it would never get good. But you know what? We kept fighting. It's like that old saying goes, "Those Who Stay Will Be Champions." -David Molk

the only time 3 teams from the same conference title had 3 teams in the Final Four was in 1970, which doesn't even really count because they were all independent schools.

3 teams from the Big Ten in the Final Four?  It's not going to happen, realistically.

the idea that our talented but young and vulnerable squad is number four may suggest that there is no really superior team in college hoop this year. If Indiana comes on strong at the end they could prove to be that squad, but. Meanwhile, if we finished the year at #4 I would say we had overachieved or at very least performed to expectations.

I just don't get how Miami is ranked so high. Their win over Duke was impressive, and they have a solid win against MSU. But those are far outweighed by an 8-point loss to Florida Gulf Coast (???), a blowout loss to Arizona, a loss to Indiana State (???), and a blowout loss to Wake Forest. That resume doesn't add up to a top-5 team to me.

Compared to how the basketball team has been for the past 15 years, with 4 games to go in the regular season this year's team's floor is now a 3-seed. That's pretty damn awesome.

I just did the dump from Pollspeak into my tracker in Excel. The distribution of AP votes is interesting this week -

- 6 votes for 2nd place

- 15 votes for 3rd place

- 22 votes for 4th place

- 12 votes for 5th place

- 4 votes for 6th place

- 2 votes for 7th place

- 1 vote for 8th place

- 2 votes for 9th place

- 1 vote for 10th place

Here is the distribution graphically - last week (Week 16) as well as this week (Week 17, so you can see the shift), and the running average of the rankings:
