Michigan #3 in Week 14 AP Poll
After the disappointing loss to Indiana Saturday night, Indiana goes up to #1 and Michigan goes down to #3. Two big games this week against OSU at home and Wisconsin away. Hopefully we come out with two big wins and it's a good week! GO BLUE!!

This was posted in the coaches poll thread.

Why is this thread downvoted?

My guess is the drop in the polls from #1 to #3. Not every fan is happy about it. I will only be sour if our team doesn't enact revenge against OSU and Indiana.

Maybe someone thought it was already stated in an earlier post? However, that was about the coaches poll.

Besides, he asked why not who.

It's easier to find out why if you know whom to ask.

Well, I guess 'Darth Wolverine' isn't a fan of me! Life goes on...

Because it's redundant. Someone already noted the ranking in the other thread about the coaches poll.

In two weeks Michigan will be #1 again.

I thought there might even be a chance that Michigan would drop below Duke, but I guess getting hammered by Miami (FL) is still hurting them, rankings-wise. I will say that Michigan easily has the best losses, if you like that view.
Here's to a great week of winning Michigan basketball this week!
And, for the record, I'm SO glad the next 3 games are all on ESPN, as I've been traveling to the east coast every week this year and it's been a pain not having access to BTN!

#3 is still pretty darn good. I haven't completely lost perspective.

Not bad, I expect we would move back to #1 or #2 with wins over Ohio State and Wisconsin this week.

unless IU loses.

Indiana is at Columbus on Sunday, so a loss in their immediate future is a distinct possiblity. In fact, of their remaining 9 games, only 4 are at home, and they still have road games a Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, and MSU. I don't see them running the table the rest of the way.

Florida doesn't play anyone but can't say I didn't see it coming.

If you compare losses, Florida lost to K State who M beat. I know you can do that all day, but shouldn't they try to at least compare the two based on the facts to date. Michigan's two losses were not upsets, I assume that K State upset Florida.

...have staked a claim at the top for at least a week. It's been a long journey to climb all the way back up there since 92-93 and good to have that monkey off the back so to speak.
But at this point, I've enough confidence in the team that there's no point sweating the politics of voting polls. Just hoping for a Big Ten championship and a deep tourney run now. Whatever it takes to achieve those goals (even if it's not as pretty as undefeated seasons & #1 rankings) will make this Wolverine happy.

All things considered, we have not left the Top 5 in either the AP or the Coaches' Poll all year, and considering where we were not all that long ago, I will definitely take that and roll with it. Further, save for one week early in the season, I believe our RPI ranking has never left the top 10, which is also spectacular really.
