Michigan a 3 seed in the West
Love me some Xavier as the 1 seed. Love to have 2 seed UNC. Sets up perfectly to avenge the ugly game in Chapel Hill earlier this year. Couldn't have been much better other than MSU getting to play in Detroit and Michigan being stuck in Wichita. So pumped for Thursday, Go Blue!
What city does that mean? Wichita or Dallas?
Wichita.

How often does a Michigan team play in Wichita at all, much less in a tournament game?

Wichita, and the wheatfields of Kansas! Kansas City, K is next to Kansas City, MO! Chicago! Crossroads of America!
If you are not at this game, I will have lost faith in MGoBlog and the internet as a whole.
PICS PICS PICS
Fucking Wichita
Ehh it's actually better. Wouldn't really wanna play Houston in Dallas the second game.
Good pt
Glad it’s Wichita! Now I get to go!
Same here!!
Fist baby, came out sideways. She’s didn’t scream er nothin.

Easy man, it's not that bad.
Weird bracket overall but I can’t complain other than Michigan State getting placed in Detroit. Let’s get it on.
MSU needs Detroit. The athletic department is struggling to meet travel requirements financially, after all the restitution it has to pay out because of the culture of sexual abuse and rape that’s run rampant for nearly 10 years.
And pressure. Rather be on the road and focus on the Tr
Team
dude, what?
He’s celebrating!
You know. "T.R. Srutny".
As always, I'm here to help.
who gives a fuck what they need in that scenario? I don't care if the go financially bankrupt, seeing they clearly are morally in that position. Make them be nationally embarrassed when they have to decline a tourney invitation because they draw the Honolulu regional. Fuck them! #GoBlue!
Agreed. We got 3 seed, Wichita is neutral site for all teams, MSU has a much stronger bracket, and we have a relatively easy region.
Also, if we face North Carolina, it will be in Los Angeles. Tons of Michigan alumni in LA, San Diego, and San Francisco.
Into airfare to make the trip from SF to LA
Same here. Can't remember the last time Michigan ever played basketball this close to the Bay Area.
If we survive til the 24th I’ll meet you there.
Yeah but UNC would travel well if the game was played on the moon! They played MSU in Detroit and it was 50/50 in the crowd.
But Michigan fans up and down the west coast should be extremely eager to see them in LA. whens the last time Michigan Basketball came out this west?
Also at least UNC will have to travel extra far this time.
Dec. 2016, away game at UCLA. Great game and Pauley was Live! Should have been there, it was fun.
Was at Pauley. Was easily 25-30% Michigan fans for a sold out UCLA home game.
Do they travel well?
They do travel very well, but there is a difference between the NCAA Title Game (which there will be only 2 teams fans there) and a regional that will have 4 teams fans there.
LA alum here; already bought session tickets for Staples! After the New York Wolverines showed up so strongly last week, us West Coast Wolverines are prepared to do our part!
LET'S GO BLUE!
Edit, never mind. I read season tickets to staples.

I'm not convinced its a better draw but they are about equivalent. Montana is the top 14 on kenpom and houston is the top 6 seed on kenpom so our first weekend is clearly more difficult and we don't benefit from a home crowd. Duke and UNC are relatively equivalent on kenpom and unc won 2 of 3 this year and while Xavier is easily the weekeast one seed I bet they lose to Gonzaga is ranked as high as Kansas and easily the toughest 4 seed in the bracket. Plus they are a west coast team. No bracket is going to be truly easy but we got the highest 14, 6, and 4 seed in the bracket and our 4 seed is a top 10 kenpom team which invalidates the bonus of getting a weak 1.
Honestly Gonzaga got an easier draw as the 4. UNC-G is below Montana in kenpom, osu is 15th to houston's 17 in kenpom and xavier is an easier sweet 16 opponent than unc. The more I look at our draw the more I dislike it.
May the 3s be falling for us !
Yessssssss indeed!!! Rain down 3s!!!
What time do we play Thursday and Saturday?
Saturday? Saturday? WD says focus on Montana
*Beat montana
They didn't say.
If the game is after 3:00, I won't have to miss anything because of work like last year.
And that probably means we'll be the noon game.
We are the only team from the eastern time zone in our pod, while Kansas is the only non-eastern team in theirs. It makes more logical sense for the Kansas pod to play early and for our pod to play late.
This assumes, of course, that People Who Are In Charge Of Things do said Things on a logical basis...
I'd bet CBS has a say in it.
traveling to Europe for work on Friday and hoping I don't miss our games en route. will be hanging out with a huge Virginia fan over the weekend in Luxembourg, then working in Germany three rest of the week, including coworkers from Michigan and Michigan State (and Penn State, but she doesn't really count).
Win it all for Wagner and Beate!
When do they announce game times?
tomorrow AM.
Thanks!
I have no idea what they were thinking about .. It seems to me that some teams got in based on the fact that they were a big program.
I would argue a few got in based off star players on their team.
for one
