Actually, I don't think it is an arena at all except by appearance. They've mentioned it once or twice - that is in fact the Imperial Ballroom at the Atlantis Resort. What is fascinating to me is that this thing is big enough that, when converted, it can seat almost 4,000 for basketball games apparently. As long as you don't make some high Hail Marys or high passes, you're pretty much set there.

Loaded field. Unforrunately, I think it will be a down year if we can't find an iso/PnR handler to replace LeVert. Kam, MAAR or Jaylen Brown being the candidates.

So top 100 Burke and Stauskas (Burke not top 100 everywhere) count as recruiting well, but guys like Walton, Irvin, Donnal, Chatman, and Wilson who were all top 100 doesn't count as recruiting well?

You are entitled to your own opinion, but your logic doesn't seem to be making much sense. If you didn't think Michigan would be worse this year than last year that is great. But most reasonable fans saw losing 2 first round draft picks, 1 second rounder, 1 key big man in Morgan and the transferring Horford as a downgrade for Michigan.

Last years team won the Big Ten by 3 games. I do not expect this years team to win the Big Ten, which means they are taking a step back. Do you expect this years team to win the conference by three games again this year?

Burke wasn't top 100?

Only 1 site had him outside @ 142 https://sports.yahoo.com/texas/basketball/recruiting/player-Trey-Burke-81659

Walton, Donnal and Irvin are 2013. We are talking about 2014 an 2015. Kam and maybe MAAR being PnR handlers of that group.

Well the 247 page you linked has him at 104, so that is 2 sites. Might want to check your facts before citing them.

My two questions were, you said Michigan has not recruited well enough based on what?, The 2012 recruiting class was loaded, but the last two class are the best Beilein has ever pulled in outside of 2012. 2015 is looking bad, but how does that one year negate the entire 2013 and 2014 recuiting classes? How can losing all the talent from last year's team not mean a step back, but next years team with 3 top 50 players (Walton, Irvin and Chatman) be doomed simply by the loss of Levert?

Secondly you never answered my question on expectations. Last years team won the Big Ten by 3 games, and you don't expect a step back. Does that mean you expect this years team to win the Big Ten by at least 3 games and make it to the Elite 8 again? Because good for you if you did, but you have to admit you are extremely rare in that regard.

Well thanks for the witty criticism and ignoring the questions in my post. You know, you could actually respond with something that contributes to the conversation instead of just a four word insult. I was trying to understand where you are coming from with your belief that this year wont be a step back but next year will.

However it is clear your basketball knowledge is so far beyond mine that when I point out a flaw in your facts or ask questions you respond with such an intelligent rebuttle. Thanks, and have a wondeful night.

You are making an argument based on experience. I am making an argument based on skill sets.

Trey Burke was composite 93.

And this team will be ranked, compete for a B1G title and have a great chance at the 2nd weekend. No step back will be taken imo.

Get a clue.

Let's wait to see what happens this year. So far we have definitely exceeded expectations but it's very early. I think we'll end up dangerous but this year may not be the same as recent seasons. I think this team will improve and nobody will want to face them. I'm excited just am saying there may be difficult moments although I have a feeling a lot of people will stay and next year will be special. I'm excited for the ride for this and future seasons as long as Beilein is coach.

I was there last year with a friend who is a huge Kansas fan.  Cost is $700 per person for 5 nights at the hotel and tickets to all three of your teams' games and includes water park passes.  The resort is ridiculously expensive (for me especially.....I am a teacher) and it's really hard not to eat and drink entirely at the resort.  I think we spent $2000 there between the two of us and our wives.  I was at the Maui two years ago to watch Michigan and I think that is way better, but Atlantis is pretty sweet too.

I was just wondering of what tournament we would be playing in next year. I remember us playing in Alaska, Maui, Disney World, 2k classic, Legends Classic, NIT tip off, Puerto Rico tip off. I figured it would be the Battle 4 Atlantis or CBE.

Should be an excellent field and if everyone on this team returns next year we have a great shot at winning it

My husband and I were talking about going, but it's the weekend of the Ohio State game. Tough decision. I hate buying football tickets and not using them. But the Bahamas at Thanksgiving with that line-up of teams would be pretty great!

I worked the very first B4A...it'll be exciting to see how the tournament has grown. Excited to go as a fan. I hear it's been phenomenal the past few years.

You'd have to miss the OSU game next year, but I would highly recommend this trip to any Michigan fan. I've been to Atlantis twice with the family. The rooms and air were relatively cheap (because we were there for an event) but as some have mentioned, the food is what will kill you. If you eat at the resort, you'll easily spend $200-$250 a day just on food.

The resort is phenomenal. Great beaches, and the water park is included with your room.

Here's a tip we learned after two days there: There's a Quiznos right at the bottom of the hill outside Atlantis, along with a gift shop that sells cans of pop for $1 each, and a reasonably priced pizzeria. For some reason, the people staying at Atlantis don't seem to know these places are there. Eat as many meals as you can at Quiznos and the pizza place - and don't ever buy pop or snacks at Atlantis - and you can get out of there alive.

B4A has stepped it up with the field, 2015 is the latest example. I think it's now the 2nd-best preseason tournament behind Maui IMO. I'll see you there in the Bahamas next Thanksgiving.
