They are ranked 19th in FEI which is a drive based metric.
FWIW, Notre Dame is 5th in S&P+, and since SOS is considered in these rankings, Michigan's ranking is buyoued upon the data's faith in ND.
It's bizzare that, even in light of al the whining about the offense, its still elite according to these metrics (in which i personally put a lot of stock). It does seem that Michigan has gotten by offensively largely on talent, with unsustainable playmaking bailing us out. But if some of the negative RPS schematic issues get worked out...Watch out.
