Texas fell to 21.
Interesting that both Stanford and Auburn jumped 7 spots with their wins (over ND and SC, respectively), leapfrogging Wisconsin (who is also 4-0 and put up 70 points, although on a bad team).
Badger fans must be upset (and probably rightly so).
"It would be a travesty, it would be ridiculous to all of a sudden come back and get the feeling back, get the health back, feel good again and then all of a sudden go throw some other colors on my shirt and go coach."
Well I think the Auburn one is tougher to explain then the Stanford game. Stanford went on the road and thrashed Notre Dame, they look legit. Auburn has struggled in winning last two games, Cam Newton is a beast though.
Yeah, I'd agree with that (so +1 to you). But still -- winning a game by 67 points doesn't move you up a single spot, but beating an unranked ND or barely squeaking by SC (because of 4th quarter fumbles and INT's) results in you moving up 7 spots AND jumping over said team?

the 12th ranked team in the nation. I doubt their fans would be complaining that they didn't win by more or anything.

Beat top 15 team = move up
Beat Austin Peay by 70 = bye week
When your team is winning, be ready to be tough, because winning can make you soft. On the other hand, when your team is losing, stick by them. Keep believing. -- Bo Schembechler
It's a bit of retroactive punishment for Wisconsin for luckily scraping by Arizona State a week earlier. ASU is not a bad team, but that win doesn't look as good now that ASU is 2-2 after losing at home to Oregon by 11 points.
I think it's a fair ranking for Wisconsin. If they're upset, I hope they take out their frustrations on MSU this week.
I know we won't get there this year but we are on the right road. That is all that matters.
Thats how I roll!
let the season begin in earnest!

Wilner and Wolf must be living under a rock.
Greetings from Bolivia.
"It's special how the real true people hang together. And if you don't support the program you're not a true Michigan guy. It's that simple." - Gary Moeller
Are there REALLY 25 other teams out there with a more impressive slate of 4 wins?
EDIT: holy crap Scott Wolf and Jon Wilner post here?
& Iowa #23 . . . thats it. he doesn't even have Wisconsin ranked at all?
Bit o Big Ten hate shinning through.
Love & Hate are horns on the same goat.
Wilner is almost as big of an idiot.
NO ranking for Michigan, Wisconsin, or USC.
But he ranks UCLA #25.
Love & Hate are horns on the same goat.
Isn't it the coaches poll that actually matters when it comes to the BCS standings? I think we are #19th in the coaches poll.
has us at 13. I thought he hated us. I think that is a little high, but very appreciated
Before the start of the season he joked in snooty way that we were not very good, dont remember exactly what he said. Heard him on Thursday night, complete 180.
I can't stand Craig James. Whenever he is calling/analyzing a game, I get the feeling that he thinks he is god's gift to the football world.
GO BLUE
I really wish the networks would remove Craig James. The guys is an embarrassment to college football. Craig James is the person who said he "had to take a paycut" when he left SMU to play in the N.F.L. Although, the think I most despise him for is when he was at CBS in 1997 and he practically campaigned for Nebraska to get a share of the MNC.
"You will suffer humiliation when the team from my area defeats the team from your area." -- The Onion
sure it was james that said that or was it dickerson??? james has alway denied that he took any money at SMU...
I think that the the voters, like the recruits, want to see the Maize and Blue v MSU and Iowa before they start supporting them.
CFB
Easiest way to justify this claim is to focus just on the Big ten teams. Ohio state is a dominant team and did beat a legitimate ooc opponent, so their ranking is justifiable.
Wisconsin is a pretty horrible team (struggles against even semi-legit teams like unlv, sjsu) and has absolutely no business ranked where they are.
Iowa lost to a decent AZ team. Iowa did look like the superior team and lost because of multiple freak plays but that not withstanding they did lose, so their ranking above UM is unjustified.
Michigan has played and won against legit ooc teams.
Based on what I see, the top B10 teams should be ranked in the order: tOSU, UM, UW, Iowa. Despite ranking UW above Iowa for now, Iowa will be tougher...in fact, expect an easy win against UW.
Conclusion: UM should be ranked where UW is currently.
Denard is #1 in rushing yards at 688. Can you say, obnoxious? I love it.
Touchdown Michigan!
