Michael Silver expects Raiders owner to have a conversation with Harbaugh in the morning.

Submitted by HeliosEusebio on

I imagine it would be a very short one.

I expect Mark Davis and Jim Harbaugh to have a one-on-one conversation on Monday. Getcha popcorn ready.

Or show their fan base they went for it.

For all we know this is being fed to Silver and others by the PR arm of the Raiders.  We either wont ever know the truth or have to wait for Bacon's next book.  The Raiders can float a "meeting" this morning and they have an army of national reporters in an echo chamber repeating it.  Even if it never happens.  Fog of war crap.   Then Raiders show their fans "see we tried!! We were the ones who were negotiating with him the morning before he took the job.  No one else!"

On the flip side if there is any meeting this morning - you have to think about Jim.  He could be back in the NFL in 6 years, or 8 years or whatever.  He know s the Raiders and Davis.  he has a relationship.  If there is truly a meeting it would be a courtesy as this is the last time he in the Bay area in while.  Maybe in 7 years Derek Carr is he next Andrew Luck and they come calling for Jim.  You dont act like an ass to a billionaire just so people on message boards dont get their panties in a bunch.

This thing is done.  If there is a meeting or not today.  There are a myriad of reasons for the Raiders to float a meeting (fake or real) to the public.

I'm pretty sure that the 49ers wouldn't have let Jim walk out of the contract and get nothing in return if he were to take an NFL gig and they could have gotten at least a 7th round pick or something....

he sounds idiotic to say "he expects" a conversation to be had btw the two. what indications do you have to "expect" such to happen? should have said there is a "possibility" that conversation will be had or something to that extent

that Harbs would NEVER leave Michigan at the altar like this????

He is a good person. That would be a Petrino or other scumbag move.

Even when he's on the sidelines on saturdays wearing a Michigan hat and pleated slacks, they'll still be pushing the narrative that he's just using us for a few years then jumping back to the supreme and all powerful NFL.

And in the latest instance of NFL people being woefully out of touch/desperate...

Wow - what a generous offer.  This is almost like charity.  Thank you NFL for flipping even offering me, I fel so blessed and so lucky to take a worse deal to be in your presence and to be surrounded by these NFL reporters for many more years.  How did I ever get so lucky?  Maybe we can even go get haircuts together Mark?

This is why I hate the NFL reporters.  He could have just reported that sources indicate there will be a conversation, but instead he has to add the popcorn bit indicating that he hopes/expects there to be last minute change of heart.

self promotion that's all his tweets are about. he's still playing the "change to stay in the Bay area" angle and telling everyone watch him in the morning for latest updates on all things coaching drama.

it doesn't matter, it's idiotic, I'm so sick of these so called "experts", more like arrogant, egotistical jackasses.

Harbaugh has been testing the waters with many assts whom might join his staff, he has already been working for U-M, he's just been classy about it.

How so many "experts" can be so arrogant while being ignorant about this whole thing is a special kind of douchebaggery.

So, the idea is that Jim Harbaugh gave his word to Michigan but that somehow some amazing offer is going to change his mind. Like he can just be bought? Michigan is preparing like Jim gave them his word and I expect that he's a man with integrity and honor, so the idea that the NFL guys expect that he'll be persuaded otherwise really shows how little they think of him. He's better off at Michigan where giving your word is all that's required.

And said amazing offer would involve less money and what can be assumed a hiigher cost of living--great deal! Not trying to be a jerk in pointing this out but isn't there a long drought specifically in northern California that is reducing quality of life?

I am still terrified. Call it conditioning. Michigan is 2-12 against OSU starting since the first game I can remember. That happened to be the Dawn of Tressel and the beginning of the Dark Times. I am a graduate student and Michigan has not won a Big Ten Championship since the year facebook started. I was in seventh grade for Michigan's last great victory over OSU.
