I commented on this, which was linked in the latest Unverified Voracity (last "feature" of UV) today. Very inspiring story.

Just wanted to check the board quickly before getting to stuff I'm actually supposed to do, and saw the link. A story I know about and was happy to click before being responsible.

Ya'll have to read this one.
I was expecting to be a little underwhelmed, but this story was incredible. What a great read and so uplifting.
I find myself hoping so much for another blowout just to see him touch the ball again - and I can turn to my boys watching with me and explain this story.

This is a movie. Like "Rudy," but a million times better because it's about Michigan. And Michael Hirsch wasn't offsides on his play.

Great story. Great article. The one part of the article, however, that might be somewhat misleading is when the writer refers to Hirsch's experience as "Ivy League JV" as if to emphasize the gap in level of play. The truth is that when Hirsh was an underclassman on the team at Harvard, there were at least 4 others in his Tight-End position group all four of whom play or have signed contracts with the NFL -- Juszczyk, starting FB for the Ravens; Brate, starting TE for Tampa; Ott, long-snapper for the Patriots, and Braunecker, who is on the Bears' practice squad. I'm not sure there are a lot of position groups in FBS programs that can make a similar claim. Anyway, the main point is, it's great to have Hirsch in Ann Arbor.
