Mich vs nd line

How are they favored by 3.5? I get that they got 508 yards, but they lost to a sub-standard team at home. Time to place some bets!!!

In a pick em' game like this one, always bet on the team with the best QB. Why? Because they are the ones with the rock in their hands. So who do you think is a better QB; Denard or Rees? 'Nuff ced.

I realize our defense improved after that first drive. WMU had no clue how to pick up our blitz.

But now we're taking a step up out of the MAC. ND should do a better job blocking. Brian Kelly teams typically learn how to move the ball. They are going to get better after the first game too.

I'm not saying we're going to lose. I'm just saying I wouldn't bet $100K that we won't.

What if someone bets $1M on ND and pays a referee $50K to make a couple of critical drive-killing holding calls?

I wouldn't care to comment on the size of the aforementioned poster's penis, but his balls have got to be HUGE!

1. The series is 13-13-1 since 1978 (modern era). All tied up.

2. Michigan is 8-5 at home and has won 4 of the last 5 games against ND.

3. Historically, Michigan has not done well vs. Notre Dame going into the game with a new HC:

1990: Michigan 24, at Notre Dame 28 (Gary Moeller 1st year)

2008: Michigan 17, at Notre Dame 35 (Rich Rodriguez 1st year)

4. The last two games have been very close losses for Notre Dame, fueled by very poor coaching decisions, turnovers and stupid penalties.

Both defenses are clearly not very good, but I highly doubt we'll see 1,000 yards of total offense exchanged and 70+ points scored in this game either.

As per usual, turnovers and special teams play will likely drive the outcome.

I would not rule out an historic OT finish in ND's favor (Ruffin game-winning FG kick anyone?).

Prediction: Notre Dame 34, Michigan 31

ND by 2 at most, likely a pick up by kick-off. Our "Ridell" helmets are at least worth a touchdown, right?

I'm giving the edge to Michigan for 3 reasons.
1. ND showed all they had to try to beat SFU. Michigan's D will not see anything new next Saturday.
2. There is no way Borges showed all his stuff for Western. ND can't fully prepare for what they haven't seen.
3. (This one really stuck out to me) Rees got rattled pretty easy when SFU brought pressure, and Michigan will be blitzing all night. I know he put up nearly 300 yards in the second half but much of those yards came after SFU pulled back their D and started playing cautious.

I am totally out of my element (queue the Donny photos) with Vegas and betting, but it seems like a suckers bet for ND fans. If you are a bookie and you get a bunch of Irish fans to take that bet and its a loss or Michigan covers, isn't that good business for you? The hubris from ND fans would appear to support this model. Again, I'm a betting noob so be gentle.
