Mich Bars in NYC
I know there are some threads about this, but I wanted to see if anyone had more detailed about the different bars to watch a game at in NYC. I understand there are 3 main ones:
-Professor Thom's
-Metro 53
-The Hill
Could someone provide information about each? I.E. what's the atmosphere like, do you need a reservation, what sort of crowd goes to each one?
Thanks in advance!

Metro 53 is where the alumni association sets up shop. For big games it draws a decent crowd, although its typically about 50% people who are there for the social scene, and don't really pay attention, and just cheer when it seems appropriate. Although 50% is pretty high obviously, since a lot of people show up, its a decent place to go (I am not good at estimating crowd sizes - maybe 150-200 for big games?)
Prof Thoms is more fun in my opinion. Not as organized as Metro 53 but a rowdier crowd.

If you are close to the UWS, I went to the Pourhouse at 109th and Amsterdam over the weekend, and they had the game on two screens, including a projection. Not super-filled, but sat next to a guy from PSU for a bit and it was pretty chill. Boy, I sound like a 15-year-old from the 80's there...

There's also Forum in Union Square. Younger crowd for the most part.

...to my mgoBrooklynites (if there are any): I'd love to get a critical mass of us together in the borough of BK for game-watching. Holler if there's any interest.
