Miami still using Nevin Shapiro's bagman for recruiting

Miami and North Carolina should both send thank you cards to Penn State.  These are two of the worst NCAA scandals in recent history but both are completely overshadowed by the tragedy at Penn State.

By themselves, the new Miami violations so far don't seem all that major, but when you are coming off the Nevin Shapiro mess awaiting a NCAA COI hearing, this is not the way you want to start off a new regime.

Being a college football investigative journalist has to be dissapointing work.

Year 0: Discovers Miami players getting inappropriate benefits. Builds story for a year.

Year 1: "This reporter discovered that a Miami booster gave about $1 million worth of everything to Miami players and recruits."

Year 2-3: Wait two years.

Year 4: Miami loses two scholarships for three seasons, no one loses job. Reporter gets to write scathing article about NCAA.

It's all John Navarre's fault.

think that is just it.  Someone (maybe multiple persons) need to fire bomb the NCAA for their constant smoke and mirrors rutine.  You can't sit there and tell me, if your the NCAA, that you will crack down on offenders (all the while your cop-for-hire quits) and then let Miami slide by.  JOKE.  After SMU got the ban hammer and the Fab 5 nailed a program for 10+ years I think the NCAA is scared to bomb a (top tier?) athletic program simply for the amount of money these programs generate.
