Miami-Alabama-Huntsville Open Thread
Open thread for the game that's on TV all over the country. Why the NCAA didn't get the times switched, I don't know. Not only isn't this going to be competitive, there's no way the ratings aren't much better if Michigan is playing.
edit: Stream for tonight: Justin TV
I guess there is a small chance of Miami blowing this one.
I kind of envisioned everyone openly wondering why a school in Alabama plays hockey while bitching that it's being televised and Michigan isn't. My vision failed.
Huntsville looks like a JV team.
I don't know dude, all 7 people at the game look like pretty rabid fans. I can imagine there must be at least another 5 watching at home.
Actually there may be more Michigan fans watching than Miami and UAH fans combined.
Miami fan: "I don't get why we have to play Michigan. It's so unfair. We should be able to play at our home rink."
USCHO moderator: "Well if your school traveled outside the Cincinnati metro area, you'd actually like the fact that you're the #1 seed in the closest region to your school. You want to be a big boy school like Michigan? Get more than 7 fans at an away game."
Ohhhh snap.
Exactly. I fully expect to hear a few Go Blue's as this game heads forward and the Wolverine faithful get bored.
On the plus side, anyone on campus today will have access to the game because ESPN360 (now renamed ESPN3) will be showing the UM game.
Why is there a Notre Dame logo at center ice?
They aren't even in the NCAA Tournament this year.
although I don't remember the host school's logo on the ice except when played at campus rinks... huh.
Just said that Michigan/Bemidji State would be live on ESPNU at 7:30... hmmmmmmmmm
He must have misspoken, but I was excited for a moment until I looked at the programming guide for the 100th time today.
Also: the in-game announcer acknowledged Miami as building a "dynasty" ... ARGH.
ESPN360 (now named ESPN3) will be showing the game if your ISP gives you access to that.
But was just hoping to have a way to watch it live outside of the home markets for the channels with a live simulcast, since then I can use DVR to rewind, etc.
Oh well, I'll just hook the computer up to the tv.
I belive espnu will replay the michigan game at 11:30 tonight
Score is 1-0 Miami at the first intermission.
They pretty much controlled the play and should probably be up more. UAH had 1, maybe 2 (if you're generous) decent scoring chances.
Why isn't this game 10-0 Miami? Miami is controlling every facet. I cannot believe this team beat Bemidji State.

seriously? laziest fricking goal ever scored in this game.
2-0 Miami 13 mins remaining 2nd period
Sooooooooft goal.
UAH sneaks one in, game ends 2-1 Miami
at the end. Closer than i expected at least, though for the second half of the game Miami's guys looked a bit like they were trying to save their legs.
MU looked pretty good, and they didn't have to skate too hard this afternoon, so they'll be ready to go tomorrow whether it is us or Bemidji.
damnit shegos!
RIT wants to go to ford field I guess....RIT up 1-0.
