Miami-Alabama-Huntsville Open Thread

Submitted by Zone Left on

Open thread for the game that's on TV all over the country. Why the NCAA didn't get the times switched, I don't know. Not only isn't this going to be competitive, there's no way the ratings aren't much better if Michigan is playing.

edit: Stream for tonight: Justin TV

I don't know dude, all 7 people at the game look like pretty rabid fans. I can imagine there must be at least another 5 watching at home.

Actually there may be more Michigan fans watching than Miami and UAH fans combined.

Miami fan: "I don't get why we have to play Michigan. It's so unfair. We should be able to play at our home rink."

USCHO moderator: "Well if your school traveled outside the Cincinnati metro area, you'd actually like the fact that you're the #1 seed in the closest region to your school. You want to be a big boy school like Michigan? Get more than 7 fans at an away game."

Ohhhh snap.

Just said that Michigan/Bemidji State would be live on ESPNU at 7:30... hmmmmmmmmm

He must have misspoken, but I was excited for a moment until I looked at the programming guide for the 100th time today.

Also: the in-game announcer acknowledged Miami as building a "dynasty" ... ARGH.

Score is 1-0 Miami at the first intermission.

They pretty much controlled the play and should probably be up more. UAH had 1, maybe 2 (if you're generous) decent scoring chances.

at the end. Closer than i expected at least, though for the second half of the game Miami's guys looked a bit like they were trying to save their legs.

MU looked pretty good, and they didn't have to skate too hard this afternoon, so they'll be ready to go tomorrow whether it is us or Bemidji.
