Pretty amazing that they were able to finish the game at Jenison. VanArendonk is a solid player - I think he's listed at 6'9" - and should have a nice career at Central.

I was at the Fremont-Muskegon Heights game last night, which is shown in the highlight if you keep watching, and one of our (Fremont) players dunked over a Heights player with about 2 min left in the game. He came out of the corner down the baseline and put a two-handed dunk over top of one of the defenders. Pretty sick for a high-school game. But no comparison to shattering a backboard.

1. The highlight was in the video. His comment was relevant to the OP. 2. If you knew anything about Muskegon Heights and Fremont, you probably would agree that it is impressive that a kid from Fremont dunked on a kid from the Heights.

Schools (maybe Michigan) need to look at Brandon Venturini from Allendale. The kid averaged almost 30 a game and can drain threes from anywhere. The only knock on him is he's 5'11", but he can apparently "throw it down".

In reality, it really just showcases what can happen after years of extended stress on a backboard. I had a coach shatter one during a high school practice just from shooting a three. Congrats to the kid and team though. Getting a big win and making it to the yahoo homepage has to be an exciting 24 hours.
