I've been frequenting MGoBlog for about 3 years now and was an MGoBlogVoyeur for a couple of years prior. As users came and went during that time, occasional introductions were made amongst the user folk hereabouts. I've noticed a bit of turnover over the last few months and thought it may be interesting for everyone to share a bit of background. So, if you're inclined...

Me;

On the precipice of 50.

Marketing Director.

Born in TC, but live in MN now.

L.S.A. Class of '88.

The most MICHIGAN thing?  I committed a foul against Gilvani Johnson in an intramural basketball game. The foul prevented him from completing a slam dunk. This turned out to be my team's sole victory in an otherwise not so closely contested 119-42 loss.

Most MICHIGAN thing you've ever done? (funny, memorable, etc.)  - Lived on the same street as Canham (took in his mail when they were on vacation), a block from Ufer and about a mile from Schembechler. Went to school with Bo's stepsons. Biggest in person Michigan sports memory #3 Michigan beating #19 (and future NCAA champ) Marquette 69-68 on March 6, 1978. Michigan's star player Ricky Green was limping around and ineffective but Michigan still won.

Most Michigan thing: I started using two waste baskets. In Michigan one is for all your beer bottles the other is for all other trash. But in Ohio one is straight up recycling and the other is for trash.

Most MICHIGAN thing: I was in the marching band.  My senior year, Gerald Ford passed away.  There was going to be a memorial service in the Rotunda, and then Air Force One would fly the casket to Grand Rapids for his family.  There was also going to be a small ceremony at the Grand Rapids airport for his family and a few dignitaries.  While typically the Marine band would play at this event, Ford had specified in his will that he wanted the Michigan Marching Band.  (And also that he wanted AF1 to do a fly-by of the football stadium en route.)

Gerald Ford passed away in late December of 2006, so the MMB got word of these plans while preparing for the 2007 Rose Bowl.  After reaching Pasadena, we learned that the ceremony was to take place on January 2.

On January 1, 2007, we woke up at 4 AM, marched the Rose Parade, played in the Rose Bowl, went to the airport, hopped on a plane, and flew straight to Grand Rapids.  The next morning we played The Victors and the Yellow and Blue while marines carried Ford's casket from the airplane to the waiting hearse.  Afterwards, his son came over to tell us all how much it would have meant to his father to see us there.

I live in the American Gardens Building on W. 81st Street on the 11th floor.

My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine.

In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion.

In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine.

I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

[he bashes Allen in the head with the axe, and blood splatters over him]

Age: about eight weeks away from 37

Occupation: By title, Supervisor - Regional Planning & Design. Like a lot of pople , I seem to find myself embroiled in other secondary roles.

Location: Downriver (Romulus, which while miles from the Detroit River is considered "downriver" somehow)

Alum: The MGoHandle tells all

The most Michigan thing I've done? I could think of a few contenders for this title, but my wife's dad's second wife (long story) had commissioned a friend of hers in Iowa to make a Michigan stained glass window display for my birthday. Of course, neither she nor this artist knows anything about Michigan apparently, so when I get it, it is a white block "M" with green glass surrounding it. Graciously (because my wife's family is all around me), I accepted it although inside I was more than irritated (insulted even). The moment they left the house, I buried this heretical monstrosity in the bed where not days before I put down some homemade mulch.

This reminds me of the time my mom came to visit for parents' weekend my freshman year. We played Northwestern that Saturday and my East-Coast, non-sports-fan mother had brought a purple-and-black coat to keep her warm for the game. She was staying in a bed-and-breakfast somewhere off State and when she came downstairs in the morning, the owner told her, Oh dear, you can't wear that today!

Mom, slightly embarrassed, went back to her room and replaced the coat with a few more layers, the outermost of which was a big red sweater with grey and white diamonds and black lines on it.

The owner ended up lending her a coat.

Most Michigan Thing: Someone else already took the "Go Blue" during sex thing and theirs was better because it was with an MSU girl. So I guess I'll say that I've turned my formerly football-hating girlfriend into a fan whose mood on fall Saturdays depends -- independently of me, which I know because I'm sometimes traveling on game days and she still tells me how the game made/ruined her day -- on whether Michigan wins or loses. Quite proud of that.
