MGoPraise: Who is/are your favorite current poster(s)?

Submitted by profitgoblue on

Okay, so I missed out on Nosce Te Ipsum's "Posters of Yore" thread (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/posters-yore#comment-1877663) about the most missed old-timers over the weekend and I'm feeling a little bummed out about it.  So I decided that it might be fun to have an MGoFeelGood moment and throw some praise around:  Who is/are your favorite current poster(s) and for what reason(s)?

I'll refrain from revealing my list because of my high-ranking position as moderator - wouldn't want to feel guilty for sending one of them to Bolivia for disagreeing with one of my opinions.  Plus, I like to keep my favoritism on the down-low.  But, since I didn't get to participate in Nosce's thread on Saturday, I will just say that I miss FormerlyAnonymous and Geaux Blue, two of my favorites and my MGoMentors.

(P.S.  Whoever lists me as their favorite will get special treatment and maybe even extra MGoPoints in return.  Kidding, of course.  But not really.)

Of the 13,793 MGoBloggers with accounts (not that I keep track), it is difficult to nail it down, but here are a few that I enjoy, and it is a much abbreviated list, for so many contribute great insight and perspective to this blog:

-BiSB's wit and sarcasm, especially in threads that aren't going well, is always much appreciated.

-WolvinLA2's ability to provide realistic perspective to discussions is a great relief.

-Raoul for the baseball updates. As much as I love to break  down football and basketball, baseball is what I used to play and a favorite.

-Justingoblue, Zone Left and profitgoblue for the zany, madcap but fair moderating.

-1484 for starting the odd open discussion thread that leads to some illuminating discussions.

There are so many people here that contribute in a very unique way to these discussions, like robbyt003 for getting threads on rankings and the like started, as well all of you who start the drinking thread when many of us are in fact drinking.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned me, incidentally. That really does mean a lot and made my evening.

OMG shirtless. I used to not be a fan at all, but ever since he was the one (with a perfectly timed comment that prevented an incriminating post from being edited) that exposed RDT as a fraud, I've come around and really started appreciating his posting style.

I can list a few (Shoe, PGB, JGB, LSA, Blaze, Mathlete, SixZero), but there are dozens more who I think are fantastic. And dozens more that are more than adequate. And dozens that I don't hate. And dozens who I hate. And one whose porch I am on right now with a bag of flaming dog crap.

But seriously folks, you guy (and a handful of ladies) are great. Thanks to all of you for helping me survive three years in South Bend, and saving my wife from a bunch of one-sided conversation about the lack of bubble screens.

...my new favorite poster may be the one of profitgoblue staring at a poster of All Aboard's mom.

Chunkums, BiSB, LSA, and Herm are all great. There are so, so many others too. I love remembering all the old ones mentioned here from when I was a reader (and not yet a poster) that may not post as often or at all anymore. Times change, and users come and go, but the MGoBoard holds fast.

Wolverine Historian because of his amazing video collection of Michigan football classics. Diabeetus cause he cracks me up on a lot of posts. Denarded has great countdown threads on gameday during the season and before. And always love the mods and Brian.

Well this guy right now: http://mgoblog.com/content/hokepoints-when-will-o-line-be-ready#comment…

I remember the avatars more than the posters a lot of times, especially for the dudes who took my pics for their avatars (the michigan grinch, the M hero badge, the sparty facewarmer "helmet", the guy who i made henne and hart and long disappear Back to the Future Style, bruce lee kicking the face off of a buckeye, etc.). I remember their names if I think (and some I've met in person, and some I've written checks to) but I don't want to think right now so...

  • Dude with the Michigan knight avatar.
  • Dude with the anime avatar that I giffed hands choking him for some reason.
  • Dude I made into a pretty pink pony avatar as a punishment for something and then he kept it.
  • Dude named Wolverine Historian. I read his blog regularly and also make sure to visit his personal page on here every so often because he'll see somebody mention an H-back blocking really well and pull out Aaron Shea blocking three dudes against Wisconsin like boom.
  • Dude with an Aegis Cruiser with an M on it or something.
  • Dude who's a Virginia fan too.
  • Chunkums, our own private LSUFreek.
  • Lurking former players. NO I'M A BIG FAN OF YOU NO YOU AWWWWW SHUCKS GUY

Anime? Ouch. I am mortally wounded. Anime ain't got nothin' on Dredd!

I did, of course almost go to RoboCop, but somebody else whined and moaned and asked if they could have the one I made. Then never used it. And so it is me on the twitters.

The 15 or so guys who spend their time in the hockey threads, I always really appreciated Seth bumping my hockey content to the front page, and a few others from before like FA and White_Tiger.
