MGoPodcast & WTKA MGoBlog Roundtable

Submitted by SAMgO on
Seth may be the man on this specifically, but does anyone know when the plan is to resume the MGoPodcast now that we're less than a month from football? And is it possible to start putting recordings of the WTKA MGoBlog Roundtable in the MGoPodcast feed like last year now that that's back underway? Makes it easier to find everything you guys put out when it's all in one place.

I've heard from a couple people who have subscribed and then quit for that very reason. It does the same thing on the web interface and it is incredibly annoying.

I mean, I do like the show, just not the way they distribute it for general consumption - it's part of the reason I try to listen live at work if possible.

Not sure if this'll be helpful at all, but here is a link to the feed, and you can add it in iTunes. https://t.co/jEzppU9GGl Also, you can alter settings to both list and play the podcasts in chronological order rather than in reverse chronological order. I find the feed manageable, although as others have pointed out, it does come in 12 segments a day. Just have to be active with the deletions. Hope that was helpful!

I know the commercials are a bit annoying but they are 30 seconds which means two taps of the 15 sec skip. Two taps and you hear Sam going "and we're back, this is ...."

In season, when I listen to everything Michigan it would be nice for one download per day, but in off season where I may only want or listen to a few segments a particular week, it being broken up is nice.

As far as the round table, I can never hold out long enough for it to be point into one segment.

Sam takes over the majority of the show after the first half of the first hour unless he's out on his Scout trips. In my opinion he's a fantastic radio voice and has a ton of connections with the mgocommunity. Two of my favorite weekly segments are when Marcus Ray and Steve Clarke make guest appearances. Heard a lot of fantastic stories on there.

I enjoy Craig's perspective.  He does a lot of research and brings a unique perspective, though he says some crazy stuff from time to time.  Just as importantly, he has a good rapport with Brian and Sam and a good sense for when to chime in.

I agree with you on the numbers guy, Ed.  He's not particularly knowledgeable about Michigan sports and interrupts other participants mid-sentence.  Ed is fine on his own segment when he's talking about analytics; that's his domain and expertise.  Michigan is NOT his strength.

Edit: Also, I'm glad that others have noticed incredulous Ace's audio resemblance to Adam Scott/Ben Wyatt.  If I ever get to meet Ace in person, I'd very much like to buy him a calzone.

Just saw they put a new segment up today, hooray!

To clarify my earlier statement, while I do specifically tune in to hear Brian and Ace, I don't mind the other panelists. I also like having it on the Mgoblog feed for the sake of convenience. I use the Podkicker app for Android, and I like having all the content in the same feed.

I used to subscribe to their podcast via iTunes but I deleted it. It got too glitchy once they started monetizing it via Progressive commercials at the beginning of each segment. Would play a few seconds of the show and then loop back to the commercial again. Absolutely brutal to try to listen to.

Same as I was last year, I'm begging for a play by play from Ace and Brian for one of the podcasts. I believe it would be hilarious yet insightful.
