MGoLexicon Question.
Question for those of you who spend more time than I have on MGoBlog. I believe (though not positive) whats being referred to when Brian or other's refer to Special K. Could someone elaborate on exactly whom that is, where the name "Special K" came from for this person (and not other societal references to Special K that I'm well aware of thank you) and anyone knows if this is indeed the same person week in and week out and how the hell he landed at Michigan? We seem to know the backstorry on the annoncers and the band announcer, I guess its sadly relevant that this person be known.

I'm not sure what to think of Brian creating an internet meme from the movie "Can't Hardly Wait"......to each his own, I guess.

I can't believe this is even remotely surprising for you.

What on EARTH is that from?
That can't be the source of Brian's nickname for our DJ.
I'd actually award many an MGoPoint if someone can identify exactly whom the real DJ is and what his story is. WolverineHistorian? Greg from MVictors? Anyone think they have this one?

Guess what fey, awful disaster of a song was used for the pre-festivities hype video? I've got my torch. Who's coming with me as we storm the guy in the Michigan marketing department who picks the music, find out he's Seth Green's character fromTen Things I Hate About YouCan't Hardly Wait, and mail him to a former Soviet republic? Anybody?

from the 1998 teen comedy "Can't Hardly Wait"
He loved terrible music, and therefore fits for who was controlling the jukebox at the Big House
From IMDB: Kenny Fisher (Seth Green) is a ludicrous wannabe rapper who plans on losing his virginity by the end of the night. When he goes into the upstairs bathroom to "get ready", Denise (Lauren Ambrose) happens to walk in. That is when the pair of former friends learn that the door has a broken doorknob, trapping them in the bathroom. The two begin talking about how they drifted apart, which eventually leads them back to their friendship and escalates into them having sex in the bathroom.

Kenny Fisher: Yo, I gotta have sex tonight! I mean peep this - They say here ninety-two percent of the honeys at UCLA are sexually active. Ninety-two of the women in Los Angeles at UCLA walking around going, "Class... or sex? What shall I do?" Ninety-two percent, yo! Hey, you know what that means?
Ritchie Koolboy: What?
Kenny Fisher: It means I gots a ninety-two percent chance of embarrassing myself. I roll up on that shorty be like, "What's up yo?" she be like, "You don't know 20 different ways to make me call you Big Poppa" cuz I don't yo.

I don't get the meme either. Why would a diminutive, befreckled wigger play a Saliva song if he were in charge of the music? Wouldn't he play a Tupac song?
EDIT: Should've waited for JeepinBen's answer.

She was the wife of the landowner, and the large piece of property had a lot of trees. He named it "Ann's Arbor" for her, and the name stuck.

Though your post is in jest..............this could be a good opportunity to inform some of the Board members:
Ann Arbor was founded in 1824 by land speculators John Allen and Elisha Rumsey. On May 25, 1824, the town plat was registered with Wayne County as "Annsarbour"; this represents the earliest known use of the town's name.[6] There are various accounts concerning the origin of the settlement's name; one states that Allen and Rumsey decided to name it for their wives, both named Ann, and for the stands of burr oak in the 640 acres (260 ha) of land they purchased for $800 from the federal government at $1.25 per acre.[3] Regional Michigan Ojibwa named the settlement kaw-goosh-kaw-nick, after the sound of Allen's sawmill.[7]

you found all of this about conjecture of two hundred years ago but could not find any info about a character in a movie made 15 years ago?

Sorry Boba Fett. Too busy watching Empire Strikes Back for the 200th time to watch a piece of crap like whatever that movie was.

I'm updating that FAQ. Any other more recent ones that need to be added? Remember, the point is to be useful to new readers, not to celebrate every meme.
