Here is a cool tool you can compare every stat of every player in Michigan Basketball history.  Should make short work of deciding arguments over who deserves to be in the MGoHOF.

I have it set to compare Lester Abram with Bernard Robinson Jr... As I believe firmly that BRJ (can I do that? screw it. I already typed it, it's staying) deserves to be in the MGoHOF.

The chart at the bottom could be a cool feature but I cant figure out how to change 1 of the 2 player's colors to something other than blue.

He is 19th on the Michigan all time scorers list, led the team to a 2004 NIT title (yeah it's the NIT but its still a mentionable feat), and is 19th on all time rebounds (3rd most since 2000 behind the Sims brothers)

Id say he has a good case.

But as I understand the idea from Brian's original post, the criteria for MGoHall of Famers isn't based solely on numbers or how good the player was but also on certain intangible qualities, a department in which I'd say Bernard Robinson Jr. is sorely lacking--as is Lester Abram.

I do miss BRob's go go gadget arms.  He got drafted by Charlotte and had a cup of coffee in the NBA too as I recall.  I wouldn't put him in the category of a Horton or a Novak though.  It all depends where you want to draw the line.

What about Chris Young?  When poor Tommy stepped in, Young was about all he had...He started from nothing, and made himself into a really nice post player.

Bernard was the buffest dude in Michigan basketball history.

He is also the reason I regularly refer to our starting QB as "Denard Robinson Jr." in the voice of the Crisler PA guy.

These positive contributions should definitely be factored into his hall of fame consideration.

Regarding those career stats, you have to keep in mind that players only got freshman eligibility in the mid-1970s, and furthermore, players play more games in a season now than they used to.  So all the career lists are dominated by recent players.

As for "leading the team to the NIT title," I can't get too excited about that when that team (2003-04) was expected to make the tournament - it was a disappointment to be in the NIT.  I felt that those mid-00s Amaker teams had a shortage of leadership in general.  BRJ and Abram were two guys that could have really set the tone and didn't.

I just put in one of my all- time favorites Graham Brown and it just gave me all his stats. Where else can you get Graham Brown's stats that quick?

Graham Brown's stats were nothing spectacular, but the Novak midichloreans were strong in that one.  He slimmed down and muscled up during his career, a lot like Morgan.  He could bang with the best of them in the post, and he was reigning heavyweight grit champion before Zack came in and changed the culture.

Love Bernard, but if he gets in the HOF, we should really be debating who gets left out. Because that list would probably be shorter. Put up decent stats, but he wasn't the reason why we won the NIT. That belongs to Horton.
