MGoGifts - What Did MGoSanta Bring You?

Submitted by redwhiteandMGOBLUE on

Good morning and Merry Christmas to all fellow Wolverine fans.

I hope MGoSanta was good to all of you! I can't open presents until the wife gets home from work tonight, so let's hear what all of you were blessed with.

I truly hope your stockings are overflowing with peace, love and happiness and that all of you have a very safe and blessed Christmas.

Go Blue!

I met Lemmy at a Kid Rock concert (I work in radio part time) and Ive wanted a pic with him for quite awhile. Long story short, he was so hammered backstage that he passed out in the bathroom and I had to settle for pic with a not so hammered Bobby Ritchie which wasnt so bad.

1st xmas with my fiance and I think she gets the picture.  1916 Michigan Ticketbook, 1949 & 1953 MSU vs. UM Ticket stub (obviously I collect these things), the Michigan stadium fathead, Michigan snuggie, a few michigan sweatshirts, a block ceramic block M for the office and a michigan lithograph for my office... a few other small things but these certainly stuck out.  all in all a great christmas and will be followed up by my bday on Monday and a trip to the gator bowl next weekend..  Certainly, a Michigan week.

...and between the wedding, rings, reception, etc., it didn't leave much in the ol' budget for a bunch of X-Mas presents this year.

So, my wife's present to me was letting me drive her to Ann Arbor (her 1st trip to Michigan) from St. Louis for the Big Chill game and letting me blow way too much $$$ at the M-Den at Briarwood Mall.  She also bought me Red Wings tix for here in STL.

At her request, I paid for the new wheels and tires for her car.

The Ten Year War - Ten Games Between Bo and Woody which so far is a fantastic read. Then the MGoGirlfriend got Dark Blue a 5th of Makers Mark, a couple of 6 packs of Founders Red's Rye P.A. and a half ounce of some icky sticky. Goodt X-mas.

Or that GI Joe aircraft carrier, but I am just happy to have my family in good health for another year. It sounds sappy, but Christmas has been a time of grief in my family for years.

My grandfather died on Dec. 17 when I was younger, and grandma passed away two years ago just before Christmas Eve.

The best gift I could have ever gotten came on Tuesday when I learned that one of my favorite patients of all time, someone I met four years ago when I was just an intern where I work, received a kidney transplant.  I visited him on Wednesday at an outpatient appointment (he was released after only four days and is doing great!) and we both couldn't stop crying.

My dad died 18 years ago on Christmas Eve, and it's always been a hard time of the year for me.  A couple days ago, I finally got a block M tattoo on my lower-left hip like I've always wanted (it still hurts!) I've learned the best way to honor his life is just by living mine to the fullest and this was part of that for me.
