Almost like a coffee stout, but a little lighter. Tastes a little bit coffee-like but that's because of the dark chocolate. If you like dark chocolate you'd probably like this. Me, I get the sampler for the Old Fezziwig and the Winter Ale, but of course the rest of it is solid enough too.

I would be more excited except my father-in-law had surgery for two bulging lumbar vertebrae today, so we've spent much of today dealing with that. All of us went to visit earlier today for a while, but my wife, as she works at the same hospital, will visit on her own on break later.

To be kinda a medical dork, it was probably surgery for bulging lumbar vertebral discs. To get to the discs, you typically chip away a bit of the back portion of the vertebra.
You can have surgery to the vertebrae themselves, but typically it's only for infection or a retropulsed fragment from a vertebral compression fracture.

Good Choice, Jolly Pumpkin makes some great beers! (I dont think I can say it enough, but we are so lucky to have all these great brewerys in our state ie. Founders, Shorts, Bells, Jolly Pumpkin, New Holland, list goes on and on...)
My favorite Jolly Pumpkin is La Roja or Calabaza Blanca. Both are fantastic!
